Signed 4-yr/$75.6M extension in the offseason, which makes him the 3rd highest paid player on the team. Not only is he injury-prone, but he also is having his worst season by far. Shooting under 40% from the field and providing nothing else. He used to be decent at defense and now he even sucks at that. He is paid to score at an efficient clip and be a 3rd option. He is not a good 3rd option. Right now he is killing our team due to what he makes and what he provides. I feel like there were daily threads about Ryan Anderson not living up to his contract but Eric Gordon has largely been able to fly under the radar despite being pretty bad for about 2 seasons now.
not his fault he was resigned. should have been an expiring tradeable piece. the rockets knew who he was and extended him with the expectation that he shoots 41-42% from the field and 36% from 3. personally i don't really like him as a player. those kinda stats at 6'3" don't appeal to me.
That was an outlier, did you see that defense Utah was playing, the entire team took the night off! He has been bad all season.
Its unfortunate for him that he can't get into a rhythm like he did on that 50 piece. Its only hurry up and shoot.
Totally idk why we gave him an extension. We should have traded him when we got Russ. Idk what’s the market for him though but he hasn’t played very consistent
For the thousandth time, he shouldn't be starting, as it messes up his efficiency and greatly raises the risk of injury. EG needs to come off the bench as sixth man in his role. PERIOD! And, yes, he'll likely be moved in the offseason...in a deal for our next piece....
Gordon is getting traded this summer. It's last the hand Morey has left to play in his deck of cards. Would've happened sooner at the trade deadline if not for restriction on extended players. Rockets will go after another Covington type and run with an all wing lineup. Targets: Kelly Oubre Terrance Ross Justice Winslow Jerami Grant Larry Nance Jr. Thaddeus Young Rudy Gay
Anyone even know what happened to him ? He was there playing in the first , I went to the bathroom came back and never saw him again ?
Lower leg injury. Being injury-prone is one of the biggest hindrances for him as a player. Without all these injuries, I believe he's an all star caliber guy.
Oh dont worry, he'll be the next one traded in the summer along with our last tradeable 1st round pick in an attempt to salvage the last "prime" year of our superstars.
