I fear getting a guy like Bolden might be useless for this season since there’s a good chance he won’t even see the floor. Marvin is our guy (assuming he gets bought out).
Yes we would. C’mon Charlotte you aren’t playing him anyway and need to tank and give the young guys more minutes.
Don't need to imagine. He played PF and C for us quite often and killed it, when healthy. I'll never forget his +57 game against the Nuggets. This style works against them too, although they have improved since then. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/21523481/luc-mbah-moute-houston-rockets-plus-57-win
Would love Marvin Williams, but he may not be bought out. Plus the Martian (I see you @Codman ) is 33 and has also talked about retiring. Jonah Bolden is available right now, and provides same benefits as MV. Plus only 24 and on a great 3yr contract. Why not both?
Claiming Bolden would be like having a draft pick. Nice 'rookie scale' type contract. Long, great athlete, solid shooter, can handle in the open court. Decent vision. Could contribute right now, but even if not, well worth developing
Dude hasn’t been a part of a competitive team since his UNC days so I'm not surprised that he'd be ready to throw in the towel. We know he’s hungry and we know he'll buy in to our system. He's also perfect PJ insurance. Plus I'm confident that MDA will trust him enough to actually play him in the playoffs.
Looks to be a much better shooter than Harty (seems to have that spacial awareness good shooters have) and a better rim protector (based on the highlight video) I'd like to see him on our roster.
Agree, but hes not available. While Bolden is! Good thing Rockets have 2 spots open right now. And could open another spot by dropping Tyson.
Those guys are both relatively young and can potentially improve. You look back on Iggy when he was in Philly - He wasn't a 3 point shooter at all .... It was later in his career that he developed that range. I voiced my opinion earlier that my only concern with MKG would be he shooting from range .... but you take a shot at that guy for his defense and the potential that he becomes a better shooter.
Yes Marvin Williams, F, Charlotte Hornets BIsmack Biyombo, C, Charlotte Hornets Tristan Thompson, C, Cleveland Cavaliers Well I guess John Henson, C, Cleveland Cavaliers Houston looked good, but the play-offs are a different animal. I would actually like to see if Anthony Bennett is healthy as well here. A potentially solid rebounder with size that can shoot. That said first things first Tyson Chandler needs to be ready as does Isaiah Hartenstein to prove the doubters wrong and to take names on the court.
