I think that B for the Rockets is very generous .... Capela should have brought you Covington on his own.

They got no value at all out of a #1 pick Nene and GG .... aside from ducking the tax.

It's going to be worth more to us in 2024 when both of us are rebuilding, the FRP this year is not worth much.

Just pointing out how non lottery 1st round picks have value even in projected to be terrible drafts.

possibly but how a 2020 pick in the 20s is helping harden/wb right now is what i don't really care much for

The only fishing EG does, is for big ol booties on IG. Hes gonna have a lot of leftover big butts in the off season, especially the ones trying to get at Harden, now that hes deleted his.

    Concerning the trade.

The Rockets will be a better defensive team and by a decent amount. Covington is a very good defender and can guard any position on the floor.

On the offensive end Covington will be efficient. He takes high percentage shots inside and he is a solid volume three point shooter. Over half the shots he will take will be from 3.

He is very solid in transition at both offense and defense.

He is a talented rebounder. He will likely average 7-8 rebounds a game and more if he is playing a lot of center. He also gets you a steal and a block a game.

He isn't a guy that will put the ball on the floor and create, but neither was Capela.

He is a few years older than Capela, but he fits into the Rockets window.

It was a good solid trade for the Rockets because it addressed their top need.

Capela is a very good player as well but he is at a position that is largely marginalized.

The Rockets also are nearly 6 million below the cap and can add a player that makes up to 13.5 million if ownership is willing to do so.

Um, what? They cleared out their bench and got two guys back y'all have been going on and on about in Diop and Vonleh, plus got our 1st to go along with it. For less money overall. I think they did well. Agreed on the rarity of four team trades. I thought the whole thing was dead, personally.

Clock's ticking, Morey. They need another 4-5. I can totally see it being Looney, and we'd better get back some goodies for helping GS potentially dodge 30 million in repeater tax.

Favors also had multiple injuries to his knee and back problems too in the last 3/4 years, those clearly costed him some explosiveness, if you watch him today, he isn't the same player he was in his first seasons. There's a reason why nobody offered him **** once he hit free agency and ended up signing a two year deal with the last being unguaranteed.

Probably already posted, but tweet illustrating Rockets with Capela vs their numbers w/o Capela. Pretty eye-opening.

Go read his whole timeline on this. I got convinced. The Rockets aren't going to lose as much rebounding as we fear.

EDIT: Thanks to @The Cat for the retweet of this guy. Never would have seen it otherwise.
