I haven't bothered to look it up, but what is the deal with teh off-corner 3 (where the bend in the arc starts) being a no-mans land? Is it the longer distance/bad angle that makes it bad value or does it **** up spacing or both.
fwiw: that 2001 image is identical to where they put the racks in the ASG 3pt Shooting Contest. also fwiw: Goldsberry doesn't say "Best Value". It appears to be Top 200 by volume or % of FGAs, maybe. By Value would probably look the same in both eras ... as that is the point. The earlier era just hadn't figured it out yet, but had equal 3pt shooters, if not better.
