Fewest free throw attempts in a game with at least 55 points scored in the last 45 years. Rick Barry had 5 free throw attempts in a game in 1974 in which he scored 64 points. No one else has had at least 55 points with less than 8 free throw attempts. Given one of the main criticisms Harden gets, especially this season, I thought this one was especially ironic. It was an epic performance but troubling that the team needed every one of those points to beat a bottom dwelling team with no real stars on it. This teams ability to play down to competition is beyond troubling at this point.
so, sorry to be dense, but how is ranking determined. I get that the first factor is # of freethrows. What is second?
It is ranking, in ascending order of free throw attempted, all games in which a player scored at least 55 points. The last column is just how many points the player scored in that game.
You can turn anything into a record if you fine-tune the filters the right way. Anyway, let's say it is record-tying as opposed to record-setting.
I was really disappointed in him yesterday for not going to the line at least 20 times. You have to wonder if he has already peaked as a basketball player and we are beginning to see a decline?
I get that the ft's are in ascending order. But if one looks at the games with 8 free throws, how are those ordered? It is not by points or dates. I am missing something.
Hmmm, I don't have an answer to that question. I just clicked on the FTA column to sort it and that's the order it came up with.
opponent: we're not gonna double team you and we're not gonna foul you harden: thank you I'll score 50 then
Love how Matt Bullard calls him “Modern day Wilt Chamberlain” but even Wilt didn’t achieve this feat.
