Good math (I suck at it) but now they need to replace those lost free agents/traded players. :)

Also, if the Astros get Castillo, they no longer need a high end starter off the free agent market. They also have Urquidy and at some point Whitley or Javier.

Verlander/Greinke/Castillo/Urquidy/McCullers ........ and then sign a reclamation project for 5-6 million dollars like they did with Miley.

As for catching, they were linked to Contreras at one point, but mostly have been linked to cheaper options like Castro. There will be a mediocre catcher like Castro or Moldonado or Romine that settles for a small contract.

    That leaves the bullpen.

There will be a number of rehab guys like Kintzler, Liriano, Jeffress, Cishek, Walker, Albers, Strop, Vizcaino, Holland, Morrow, Norris, Cingraneli and Allen that the Astros can target..... not to mention so far no one is knocking down Smith, McHugh or Rondon's door.

The big one is Harris, and they may be in a position to retain him or they may have other plans like McCullers.

Think you meant Will Harris instead of Roberto Osuna in the gone column. Osuna has two years of arbitration remaining, and Harris is a free agent.

I just hope they dont have to give up Bielak in any of these proposed trades.

    He's my favorite pitching prospect.

If they go cheap at catcher I hope Romine is the guy and it's a big no for me when it comes to a Castro reunion.

If anyone is interested......... Chirinos is telling team he wants a deal of at least three years at over ten million a season and his agent thinks he will get it.

A number of teams are interested in him.

Do you think that are ridding themselves of Osuna?

I would think the Astros Organization- is livid with the Yankees signing Cole. Especially with all this allegations .. Hope they make some big splashes to counter

Why would they be livid with the Yankees? They didn't do anything wrong

No thanks. I would much rather have Castro at that price.

Nobody should fault the players going after the most money possible... these things are clearly cyclical, and now that teams have penny pinched for a few years, there's more money to spend. Once they spend (overspend), there will be another down cycle.

Springer has to be annoyed regarding the timing of his free agency... unless he's willing to sign that extension soon.

Its insanity to think that Boras makes 4% of all these contracts. He's going to be close to making 40million this offseason alone. Thats fkin ridiculous
