Tired of people getting out of races saying it isn't fair.

not so sure. personally i go back and forth on my feelings about him. just seems they were running in the same lane. his campaign is struggling but still, it's early, i know i'm still undecided...

What lane is it that Booker and Kamala are running in exactly that is unique to them?

That's really cool. I'd love to see something that updated monthly to see how candidates are shaking out. Looks like that one was right at the peak of Warren's candidacy and before the Pete surge, so I'd be curious to see if things have changed, or if Warren is still the dominant 2nd choice, etc.

50-60 yr old, moderate minority. :)

But seriously, they were running as the "Biden is too old, the others are too young, we have experience and can appeal to all parts of the party" moderates.

I basically see Booker, Harris, Buttigieg and Klobuchar as the same "Not Biden but not a socialist" lane with Buttigieg also being in the "I'm young so that means HOPE!" lane. Don't see any reason to think Harris getting out would impact Booker.

He looks likely to qualify for the next debate and I think he has incentive to be in as long as possible to try to get a VP nod. His "star" has taken a real hit needs to help himself.

Don't really think either had a lane.

I think Booker is pretty much an afterthought.

    They're both senators.

    So is Klobuchar. :)

It's ok, the only reason he thought it might help Booker is because they are both black I get it.

I could see him being a good VP pick for Warren (or Klobuchar in bizarre universe where she's doing well). I think all the guys basically have to pick a woman, though.

If impeachment hearings start in the Senate in January, I could see that being when a bunch of these Senators start dropping out and blaming it on their actual job obligations.

as major pointed out, buttigieg not a comparison. the others are senators...
cory represents an urban, more multicultural option to klobuchar's midwestern folksiness.
    not the same lane.

We are getting really narrow on what lane these people with such little support are in.

Booker is in the urban, multi-cultural, east coast, senatorial, moderate, not old but not young, black but not a woman, not Joe Biden and not gay lane.

    LOL

The twitter outrage over Kamala being "forced out" is killing me.

You are the one narrowing the lane. If you see Cory and Amy and Pete as the same, then fine, I don’t.

To be clear, you can create a bunch of narrow lanes right? With the exception of Bernie and maybe Biden I'm not sure anyone is in a box. Even Warren kind of dabbles across the spectrum.

That said, generally speaking, Booker, Harris, and Klobuchar at a minimum are in the moderate "not Biden" lane. You can break that down sure further into the "Midwestern and Urban" lanes but that is basically you agreeing that the similarity between Booker and Harris is that they are black. There isn't really a reason to lump them in with each other as a totally separate section of the primary from Klobuchar otherwise.

I saw you needling for that answer. You got a watered-down version of it.

EDIT. Surprised to see Julian Castro still in the race. I guess he has a lane unto himself: the "backfire-slam-on-Biden Latino" lane. ;)

Very surprised she did this before the debate later this month. As of now, she’s one of only six that have qualified. Figured she would make her last stand there.
