I wish we could have picked up Mike Davis. He runs super hard and would probably fit in well as a backup. The Hyde/Johnson tandem is doing well but I would feel more comfortable if we had a 3rd back "capable" of playing either role if one of Hyde or Johnson were to get hurt mid-game. Other names, Spencer Ware, Mike Gillislee, Jay Ajayi off the top of my head.
I have the line non officially giving up only 11 sacks this season. They have 25 but one was that bogus call in Indy, another one was a fumble recovery from a bad snap, another one was the David Carr run out of bounds sack, which I'll take over a regular sack and a fumpass in San Diego that they counted as a sack. So that's 21 total sacks. Out of those 21, In 10 of those,Deshaun was looking for the home run play and the routes were long developing. No coincidence that with a shorter passing scheme, misdirection being reintroduced to the offense, along with willingness to dink and dunk, there has been a cleaner pocket. I wish there was a stat for how many sacks Watson has escaped to add to the 11 sacks given up by the line.
Defense is looking to setup real nice next year if we resign everybody reader Zach Mac Martin Charles Reid Roby Conley Hargreaves Gipson Whitney Watt Lonnie And also I’m really hoping duke comes back 100%
