Below is not the kind of multiple transactions that Morey makes unless the owner is penny pinching. Losing roster/trade flexibility and throwing away young players and draft picks. Laughable.
Ryan Anderson -> Brandon Knight -> Iman Shumpert salary ballast is now officially gone. With picks and a young player as collateral damage.
"We know we're going to be in the luxury tax, and if you want to compete for a championship, I feel like unless you get real lucky, you're going to be in the luxury tax," Fertitta told ESPN"
Bright side alert - Summer 2018 was probably DeAnthony Melton Peak Value season. Morey does it again!
in before morey does something that makes these objections irrelevant and all these people say "oh we didnt know thats possible! Can you really do that under the new CBA?"
This isn’t completely correct. By convincing Ryan to restructure his contract in last year, Morey was able to create a situation to encourage another team to cut him, so Morey could get him back in 4th for minimum. So we got 1/2 yr of Chriss and Shump and another full yr of Ryno
cheap b*stard.... and before anyone mentions cap room or lack of trading partner or any of the other excuses... just look at the coaching roster - none of that is affected by any of those other limitations... We should be overpaying a top tier asst coach or whatever right now who's ready to step into the position if its decided to move on from MDA... but no... we are lowballing MDA and then going to bring somebody in cold if its decided MDA aint the guy... ...smh... "Whatever it takes..." - sure Tilly... whatever...
I believe I said this then... I don't mind if you are dodging the luxury tax. I can even be sold on the benefits of doing that. Just don't lie to us about it.
There really is nothing more insulting than lying to our face about something so obvious. We are in the middle of a championship window, with a bleak future beyond the next year or 2. If you aren't willing to pay it now, just admit that it's something you wont ever do. He's rapidly usurping the McNair's stranglehold on worst ownership in Houston. He might have already done it given how much he's actively hindered the on court product during a pivotal window for the franchise.
Yall better get at this man on twitter......eh who am I kidding, im not gonna do it, why should you. He's a douche though.
Lol he just wanted to sell his book with free publicity. So what if he went on basketball shows and lied his ass off just to look a little better on camera? That's a thousand more book sales! Don't y'all know he got his family to feed??
