I realise the irony of this considering Gordon has been terrible on both ends of the floor, but Lou Will is probably the worst defender in the league of anyone who plays regular minutes. He's 15-16 levels of Harden bad but he gets away with it because everyone loves him. Kinda like when every two weeks some generic 'nbahardcorehoops' accounts tweets asking why nobody has signed Jamal Crawford yet.
The worst part is we can't even trade EG until next summer. We're basically stuck with this team. Wish we would've kept Lou Will. He was happy with his role as the 6th man his entire career and he even took a huge discount with the Clippers for stability.
Stuck with this fat unhappy punk, only thing worse than his non-productivity is when the injuries start piling up. He looks like he sniffed coke, banged skanks and ate pizza all summer
True. I guess the thing w/ LouWIll is that he's pretty consistent on the offensive end and doesn't really go through these horrendous drought that Gordon does..
eh, I'm not so sure about that. Most shooters are streaky, I think the 'we need players who will shoot 37% every game not 40 one game and 25 the next' is kinda one of those things every fan says about their players. If you look at the monthly splits on shooting over the last few seasons for Eric and Lou Will, they have both had a similar amount of months shooting very low 30s or in the 20s for 3s. Guys like JJ Reddick and Kyle Korver who are basically just shooters are the guys who can put up very consistent numbers. Also Eric Gordon is a career 37% 3 point shooter in the playoffs, and shot 40% on 3s last year on 8.6 a game. Whereas Lou Will is a career 26% shooter, which is absolutely horrid. Eric Gordon is better than Lou, or at least he has been over the last few years. He just isn't as flashy and doesn't get the same love from NBA twitter. Having said that, he has been one of the worst players in the league in the 6 games so far this season, dude's outta shape.
Sadly the best and most athletic version was him with the Clippers averaging over 20 ppg. That was nine years ago.
Have loved him as a player, but it is time for him to go, we got lucky to get a couple of healthy seasons out of him. If the Gordon for Butler trade rumors were true we screwed up. Time to let EG go, we need younger, more athletic players. DD
really hope I don’t have to watch him chuck for the next 3 or so years...I often hate watching him play...so infuriating
I’ve been saying to package EG and Capela for Aaron Gordon or something. Ben McLemore is basically EG without the play making ability and a lot worse defensively. But putting Aaron Gordon at the 5 next to PJ will allow us to play even faster, if we can put AG00 on Anthony Davis, we can use PJ for lebron
EG sucks this season. No doubt about that. Let’s not forget what he’s done in the playoffs though. He’s a solid 6th man. Don’t expect more than that from him and you won’t be disappointed.
