If this doesn't ring a bell, it should. This is how the Warriors beat us in the 4th quarter of Game 6 to eliminate us. Ran the same play over and over again and we did nothing to adjust on the fly.

We are being toyed with by other teams because our coaching staff is incompetent.

We should've been good enough to beat the Warriors without KD. We should've been good enough to beat the Bucks without Giannis. We have the talent advantage, but are at a complete coaching disadvantage. To anyone who says coaching doesn't matter, just look at the Rockets' failure.

Well we knew the defense wouldn't be good

well it was obvious the defense needed a ton of work based on what we've seen before this game. it shouldn't be a surprise

    Yup.
I rewatched the final 4 minutes of the game to actually understand what happened..as the article said it was the same play again and again.
Give the ball to Lopez..when he is double teamed, he passed out to Middleton/Ilyasova..when they left him with just Tucker he just scored.
The old fashioned, creating space and playmaking with the post game.

But before the 2 minute mark when Capela was still in, Lopez didn't have it so much easy. I don't know why MDA took him out.

Mike is just stubborn as ****, once in panic he reverts to is old habits, and last night he did it again, as soon as the Bucks made a run to start the 4th he fired Harden back in the game without giving him rest, went super small against a Yao kind of center while we had two centers who played well glued on the bench just to watch the other team get free baskets one after another for the last 4/5 minutes with the game on the line...and we have to deal with that, because that's not going to change at this point, he is who he is.

The problem with firing Mike is that i do think he's pretty much perfect to coach guys like Harden and Westbrook, players that are probably not going to play within a system that asks them to do things they're not used/willing to do, and this is a players league so, yeah. If Mike will not be resigned or gets fired, i totally expect the Rockets to bring in another players coach kind of guy, like Lue (which, fwiw, might end up being still better than him, i don't know at this point).

mike is great at managing personalities and setting up the team.

he is bad at adjustments and countering what other coaches are currently doing.

What does analytics say about having a skilled 7 footer posting up on a 6-5 player....

FWIW, that's how the Rockets will beat lots of people this year too. Run the same two plays over and over again:

    1. Give the ball to Harden and watch.
    2. Give the ball to Westbrook and watch

Morey would probably tell you it balances out. This is where analytics goes wrong.

Just like the Texans, coach is horrible at in game adjustments. An awful last few minutes for Mike D.

My high school JV coach could have seen this and made an adjustment to at least try to stop it.

D'Antoni just didn't care. He never cares. Adjustments don't matter to him.

The same strategy to stop the Hamptons 5 is not universally applicable.

Did Tyson Chandler get hurt? he was giving them problems early on.

Nah. D'Antoni just thought it'd be best to let a 6'4 dude guard Brook Lopez.

Tired of Dantoni. Seems like a nice guy, but don’t think he can get us over the playoff hump.

Lots of teams run the same play for continuous stretches with success. Especially in the regular season. Meh storyline.

How do you morons still not get it!? The Rockets WANT this mismatch. They think it’s in our advantage for smaller players to guard bigs and have them shoot in the post.

Regardless if you think this is right. The Rockets aren’t adjusting they want this.
