Do you guys really think this team wouldn't be better if Kawhi Leonard played for the Rockets instead of Harden?

 

Westbrook had 15 points in the 4th and the rest of the team had 1 point.

 

Chandler was playing awesome in the first half with a lot of energy and hardly played after that. Just a shame.

I hate to pull this card every damn year but its true yet again - officiating. The second half was definitely called different and it hurt the Rox. All I ask is that the same thing is called on both sides of the court. We're going to need about 374 more challenges for this new rule to have any decent outcome for NBA fans.

 

MDA and Morey will never learn. The “inefficient” guy is the one scoring. He’s not settling for jacking up 3’s. He’s mixing it up.

When the game is on the line and it’s tight, go to some higher percentage “inefficient” shots. Yes, they only net 2 points but they keep the scoreboard moving. Post up against smaller guys. Get some buckets. We all watched Tucker get abused in the post to close out the game. Our scoring droughts are a product of this one trick pony offense. It’s time to evolve.

Thank God we have Westbrook bringing a new wrinkle to the offense. Without him the whole dame team would have kept bricking 3’s and it would have been a blowout.

rockets need to find a better balance to playing fast and playing with pace pre wb era. continuing to play fast leaves the rockets vulnerable when theyre not hitting shots despite taking open shots. and with a bad defense that they're displaying its going to be a domino effect. atleast when the rockets played with more pace they ate the clock. you still have your defense to compensate. now missing shots coupled with more time for the defense to climb back in the game is the negative that comes along with it

And that is the basic problem. Harden's game relies on officiating and subjective interpretation. He's built his career trying to game the system with regards to fouls. It is the reason why his style is unpleasant to watch for most people. If he devoted his energy to trying to perfect basketball skills (other than depending so heavily on foul interpretations) the rockets would likely be a much better team.

Man, hes a great foul drawer, but we didnt lose tonight cause the dude didnt get enough calls, he didnt score 36 ppg last year only because he was reliant on refs, he didn score 35 ppg on 60 TS solely because he was trying to gain the refs, cmon man.

 

I wish I could be a fly on the wall during Rockets practices to get confirmation on do they actually practice anything other than drive and kick 3 point shooting chuckfest?

Do they actually have plays to to run for mid range shots or are they explicitly telling people to not shoot them or do they and guys simply just don't.

Do they have another strategy other than foolishly chucking 3's?

The rockets are like the NBA's Version of the air raid offense. Just 5 wide every down, throw ball 50+ times a game.

 

Lame sauce. Harden has a bad shooting game and shot 1 for 8 from 3. If we had kwahi and he had a bad shooting game we would lose also. If harden was 3-8 which is easily doable for him, we win this game.

 

THIS. Gotta mix it up. Morey ball definitely works statistically. But not in the clutch time. His algorithm does not work in those moments but those moments matter the most, esp for Rox who’s been a contender for yrs but always choke deep in the playoffs. Rox don’t hv it, Denver don’t hv it. Clippers hv it.

 

we all know they don’t have any plays for midrange shots...Rockets trying to average 50+ 3 point attempts a game with a bunch of streaky, inconsistent shooters who can be hitting everything 1 half, and then turn into a bunch of bricklayers the next...and it’s always the entire team that goes cold all at once

Capela gets the ball at the free throw line time and time again, but he can’t do anything with it since he’s useless unless he’s 2 ft from the rim
