Funny as Simmons was last relevant in the mid 00s and was a disaster every time he actually goes on TV. Now, he’s just a spoiled Boston fan that has become the very fan that he would have hated about 15 years ago.
of course they were! you see them right there in the left corner when Altuve hits the walk off. That won't generate the likes and retweets though.
Seems pretty pro Houston to me. I don’t recall any heartbreak at Ewing’s hands. I do recall busting his Knicks’ ass in the finals though.
Bill Simmons is a Clippers season ticket holder. He's ability to retain those seats depend on him trashing the Rockets -- the only team that poses a real threat to the Clippers this season.
I don't get this either. The only thing I can assume is that his favorite teams (Celtics, Clippers, Red Sox) are threatened by Houston teams and in some cases (Astros) have been overtaken by them. That and the weird nationwide narrative about hating Harden which I will never get. I guess some people just need to hate others to feel better about themselves. Weird but true.
In terms of media coverage, Boston fans are the red headed middle child, twice adopted. When it comes to the American league, it's all Sox or Yankees to them Their insecurity wouldn't be that bad if they weren't entitled, soulless, and self serving.
Cool? Simmons is a shock jock. He's a gambler and he's arrogant. It's fun watching him give someone else the business, but I take his words like I take Daniel tosh's words. If you're insulted by him, you care far too much. I'm not trying to diss him or anything, he's still miles ahead of the regressive frat boys of barstool.
After he tweeted that comment about how it was funny that Harden and Westbrook were in the building while the Astros "choked" away the lead, Houston fans proceeded to roast his ass for the rest of the night after Tuve ended the game. I'm guessing he is still salty about it. Anyway, I am thoroughly enjoying the fact that LA, Boston, and New York teams and their fanbases hate our guts. That's how you know your city is on the rise.
been staring at this for the last 10 minutes nonstop. never gets old. he shook and mesmerized all 4 players.
Simmons theorized the Knicks teams were better when Ewing wasn't playing/was hurt/etc., despite the fact that it didn't really make sense since Ewing was such a good player generally. He dubbed this the "Ewing theory." It gets applied whenever a team is sort of inexplicably better despite losing one of their top players, be it to free agency, injury, suspension, etc. Here he's saying the Colts are better without Luck and the Nationals are better without Harper. So it's sort of anti-Houston, but not to the extent deserving of a thread IMO (though since I responded that's kind of pot/kettle).
Guys, this has nothing to do with Houston. Nothing at all. It’s a total coincidence that we are playing his 2 “Ewing theory” teams.
