Well, we got it. In spite of Cole so obviously getting squeezed, and the ridiculous delay. Yet to break out with the bats..continue to leave scores of ducks on the pond. That said, the Astros are a historically great team that can win in different ways. I really like where we're sitting.
So I'm assuming a rain out tommorow benefits the Astros significantly more as we rely on our starters significantly more.
Crazy that wasn't even Cole at his best (5 walks) and he still doesn't give up any runs. Dude is a BEAST!!!!
As much as celebrating in front of our fans would be at home. It would be truly heart warming and entertaining to celebrate all over that field.
While Verlander would be on regular rest on Friday, I'd only pitch him if they have a chance to close out. If series is tied, hold him back until Saturday.
You throw your best starter as soon as you can if it's on regular rest. That isn't really even a discussion.
Y’all are making this way too complicated. These are the only 2 options. No rain. 4 - Bullpen Wednesday 5 - Greinke Thursday 6 - Verlander Saturday 7 - Cole Sunday Rain 4 - Greinke Thursday 5 - Verlander Friday 6 - Bullpen Saturday 7 - Cole Sunday If we are facing elimination in game 6 then Cole pitches on short rest.
Exactly. Verlander is a man of habit. Theres no question about it that Verlander will go on Friday. Cole will also pitch game 6 on normal rest.
Depends how pessimistic they feel. Do they want Urguidy et al to pitch an elimination game if they lose the next two?
