The fundamental difference between two nations and US knew it, NBA knew it the rockets knew it, damn DM knew it. And NBA still marketing in China. U tell me
Over one damn retweet lol. They overplayed their hand with this one, they give the NBA no choice but to take a principled stand now.
North Korea is lot worse and their camps and ppl let them off the hook because Morey didn’t mention them. This is one small part of China while all of N.korea is really in a poor condition. Jong Un is living a rich life while everyone is starving. Sudan and Darfur in the past. Syria still........some South American countries, Iran and women.......Erdogan. I dun understand why those countries get a free pass.
China knew the NBA supported free speech. Idk about China, that’s why I’m asking you. Will China admit it’s mistake and unban the NBA?
What is the difference? Xi’s daughter came to the US university to study, probably having other corrupted officials kids as her classmates. While normal citizens are feeding their kids with poisoned milk powder in China.
The problem is that the Chinese especially the PRC leadership doesn't understand that Morey can be speaking as an independent person and not be reflecting the view, or tacit approval, of the NBA leadership. The nature of group think in China would be that such a statement wouldn't be made in the first place unless it reflected the view of the leadership.
I get what you are saying but the CCP doesn’t really care what it’s citizens want and aren’t afraid. They have killed tens of millions of them before and can again.
Difference is that you help those who got it the toughest first. Funny you say that, that milk powder was a one time thing and it was a food security issue. Someone got greedy and put it in. The party blacklisted that company IIRC. Now they drink foreign ones.
I've been pissed off at Hollywood for sucking up to China and self-censoring their movies for years. It(along with the PC culture in general) is ruining big budget filmmaking. All of this needs to stop. Hollywood, Big Tech, professional sports, everything. I understand it's a huge market and I am a capitalist at heart. But when you start to bow to the demands of a communist regime in exchange for money, that feels more like cronyism than free market capitalism.
This is natural reaction of trade war. Now the decoupling of two of the largest economies has began and NBA is just small potatoes. We haven’t seen the real consequences by slightest yet. This thing could last 20-30 years or more after current leaders of both countries are long gone. Then everyone will go back and shake hands and realize how stupid the whole thing is. That happens all the time in human history.
This. Everyone keeps harping on the Communist part but the issue is that it is a single party state with a totalitarian dictatorship that controls every facet of its citizens lives and believes it can bully the rest of the world.
Admit a mistake? No. Surprised they went full in on this, the NBA was conceding its pride for China as much as it could, I thought the Rockets ban would be temporary, the message was sent, and that they would try to move on from this. Instead, they are sending a different message to companies around the world that if you do business with them then you will submit to them in full.
NBA is owned by USA. China can ban themselves all they want. At the end of the day China does not own NBA. NBA loses in terms of business and thats all there is. The one that is gonna lose out the most is China imo.
Those countries don’t get a free pass. The vast majority of those nations are being sanctioned by the USA and other nations. China is the nation that has had the least consequences thus far.
maybe just bcuz CCP has a yes ,china has give up communism since Dengxiaoping times in 1978.they just keep the name of communism. which they claim can save china
