Excerpt... Overall, he struggled in his matchups with Green, making 36.4 percent of his shots when defended by Green in the regular season. But the Rockets still came away from the season believing the series against the Warriors was an aberration. “Well, you know, Clint had a little downer toward the end because he got sick, he had a virus that got him and in the playoffs, you get sick, don’t feel good, you’re playing against the best in the league,” D’Antoni said. “So it’s understandable. But hopefully that’ll galvanize him. And every year he’s gotten better. Every year he’s improved. And I expect him to do same thing this year. “He had great work with his national team. He’s come in ready to roll and, you know, barring unforeseen circumstances, he’s going to be great. … He’s a big part of what we do.” Capela did not choose to ignore the toughest series of his career. He has watched the video of the series to use it. Though he does consider the series an anomaly, Capela said he has learned from it. “I’ve watched film a little bit,” Capela said. “I know what I could have done better. I’ve grown up from that. “It was just something that happened. The year before against them I was better in the series. It just happened. I’m ready for this year now.”
According to seeding prediction, first round playoffs matchup is GS or Lakers, I’d like to see him to dominate Green/looney or Davis because Tucker is getting old. Fg36.4% is low in regular season, domination = fg72.8%
Capela and Tilman must get along great. They both love talking. Capela better man up if we face the Warriors again this year in the playoffs.
If dude couldn't compete because he was sick I understand. To me, he looked frustrated and defeated. Time will tell. If he doesn't improve this year, he really needs to consider ditching the blond.
Gotta think that if his being ill (even if he had mostly recovered by the GS series) reduced his energy/effectiveness/whatever by even 5-10%, that's a big difference when you're going up against one of the best teams in recent NBA history.
If Clint washed his hands regularly the Rockets would be preparing for a ring ceremony next month. SMH.
I read Feigen's Tweet a little too quickly and thought for a moment that Clint plans to dominate D'Antoni.
Can these guys just stop talking and making excuses? Harden was tired, Capela was ill...even if true, they should know people don’t want to hear that. And Capela should know better with his big mouth, just work harder without making promises.
