I feel like they are going to have to keep Nene or Silver will punish the team further.

Sure hope Bennett and Thabo bring something to the table. Clark looked like crap in summer league. I had high hopes for him, but haven't seen much improvement or desire.

Good broken down list here. Clemons and Pons on 2-ways likely.

The 11 guaranteed contracts are here for the duration.

That leaves the NG contracts. Clark and Hartenstein make it unless traded which is unlikely now.

Basically 2 spots for 3 guys: McLemore, Bennett, and Frazier. Assuming they keep a FULL 15. If they are staying at 14, then 1 spot up for grabs.

I really hope Bennett has a good camp and makes the team. Would be nice to have a guy with some upside.

Agree with everything. And I hope Bennett pans out too... it would be nice to have an actual PF on the roster with some size who can also shoot. It would give the team a different look with him in the lineup if they want to change it up a bit. The others he's competing with to make the team are just lesser versions of players they already have.

I’ll put those guaranteed 10 (minus Nene) against any team in the league in terms of depth and only the Clippers can compete on paper.

So who gets booted to make room for Ryno at training camp?

I can't help but feel everyone is overrating our depth by ignoring our age.

This roster 2 years ago would be clear favorites. Most of our core is somewhat or extremely close to retirement.

I see these depth signings as great stop gaps (after training camp separates the better ones) until we make a move that puts us on par with the Clippers.

Even if Harden is better than Leonard, it doesn't cover the gap between George and Russ. I would trade Russ for George in an instant, and the Clippers would not make that trade. Their top 2 is at least as good as ours, and their next 5 are better than ours.

The fact that our worst 8 players are better than their worst 8 is heavily exaggerated in importance on this board.

    Westbrook - Beverley
    Harden - George
    Gordon - Kawhi
    Tucker - JaMychal Green
    Capela
    - Zubac

    Rivers - Lou
    Green - Shamet
    House
    - Harkless
    Thabo - Harrell
    Tyson
    - Kabengele

    1. Harden - Kawhi
    2. Westbrook - George
    3. Gordon - Lou
    4. Capela - Harrell
    5. Rivers - JaMychal Green
    6. Tucker - Beverley
    7. Thabo - Harkless
    8. House - Shamet
    9. Tyson - Zubac
    10. Green - Kabengele

I say it's pretty even, in the best 10 on both rosters - 2 at every position - the top 3 is too close to call, they win in the best 5 on paper and I see better depth in our favour. George and Westbrook are not fully healthy yet, Kawhi has to prove he can handle more minutes and stay healthy, so on paper it's pretty even. We have the advantage in health where it stands right now, they have the coach who actually uses depth better.

While it's not a loss if Bennett doesn't make it, I still would like to see him play in a couple of preseason games and maybe have a chance to make the team.

I don't believe this is a reasonable way to make an assessment (I seriously don't understand why anyone would judge this question by position) and you're not taking age into consideration. To put this in perspective, their whole bench would be in our rotation. It's entirely possible our entire bench wouldn't crack their rotation.

There is of course the bigger question that they have a monstrous defensive team with plenty of scorers. We are frighteningly bad at defense in comparison. Our top 3 defenders are Tucker, Gordon and Capela. Their top 3 defenders are Kawhi, Beverley and George. That's an absurd gap that we'd struggle to replicate on the offensive end.
