I thought we were in win now mode? Now means today. Not next month. Not next year. Worry about the future in the future.
We needed O-Line help and you are banking on something that hasn’t happened. BoB made the right move.
Sure if you are good enough to win the Super Bowl. Do you really believe this team is better than the Patriots? Better than the Chiefs? Baltimore even? That is just in their own conference.
Um, Trent Williams is not being traded. Yeah, let's wait til Watson is killed with Khalil or Davenport at Tackle. I would rather give up 2 #1s for a 24 year old LT than a #1 for a 31 year old. Clowney is irrelevant to this. Who you should be mad at is Brian Gaine......that 3rd round pick he refused to trade for Dillard started the chain of events. You can blame BoB all you want, but BoB was frustrated with the lack of moves when Gaine was here. Thats why Gaine is gone.
Giving up two #1’s and a #2 for a LT that hasn’t even made a Pro Bowl and was rated as the 12th best left tackle in the NFL? A left tackle that isn’t as good as the left tackle we dealt away not long ago? A negotiation that ended with Clowney not signing the tag because we tried to trade him? Where we got a -#3 for Clowney AND are paying him 6.5 million this year to play for the Seahawks? You better hope to God that Tunsil becomes an All Pro for the cost we paid... especially when we make him the highest paid left tackle in the league ON TOP. of the picks to get him.
Bradley Roby has looked pretty good IMO. Could offer him if the Jags were interested in resigning him to a contract. Roby, a 2nd & throw Keke in? Not really worth speculating over. Best chance of Jalen becoming a Texan is next offseason
2020: 2nd rounder, Two 3rd rounders (likely), 5th, 7th 2021: 3rd rounder, 4th, 5th, 7th Don't think there is a limit on how far you trade out but don't think teams are too interested in picks beyond 2021 at this point.
We have very little draft capital to compete. For us to get Ramsey we would have to give the Jags some young players that could help them build. A package of Fuller or Coutee, Lonnie Johnson, young TE and a 2020 2nd might start the conversation. I'm just fantasying, because the likelihood they trade him in division is low and others can offer draft capital we don't have.
Jason La Canfora reports there are "strong sentiments" among many NFL GMs that the Chiefs will emerge as the primary suitor for Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey. For what it's worth, locked-in Chiefs reporter Terez Paylor recently noted he wouldn't expect Kansas City to make a "hard push" for Ramsey. With Patrick Mahomes' and Chris Jones' long-term deals still being worked on, capital to pay up for the former No. 5 overall pick would be hard to come by. Nevertheless, the Chiefs are undoubtedly in the market for help along the sidelines. The 24-year-old Pro Bowler should garner a first-round selection (if not multiple) if traded by end of week.
All this tells me is that there is going to be a lockout. NFL players starting to act like NBA players. NBA players contracts are the complete opposite of the NFL guys. Incoming!!!
If they could somehow make this deal, it's such a no-brainer. The Texans have been many things (good, bad, embarrassing), they've never been interesting. Jalen Ramsay would be *interesting.*
