Charlie Wilson gave my friend's grandfather a pearl handle revolver. He inherited the gun and let me hold it. Holy **** man.. powerful feeling. And I don't even like guns.

Sorry I'm telling so many personal stories but this one is funny in my mind:

I went to visit Billy the Kid's grave in New Mexico. It was totally worth the extra 25 minutes added to my trip. So the grave is in a cage and Billy is next to two other people, presumably people from his gang. Billy's headstone has a welded frame around it. Reason being, two people stole his headstone over the years and they're trying to keep it there this time.

I can't help but hope that someone goes out there with a torch and steals it again. The irony killed me when I read about why it was welded to the concrete.

Don’t apologize! Not to me. I frequently tell personal stories, mainly for my own enjoyment. Sometimes, they even pertain to the topic! ;-)

I wonder how many films have been made about the Kid and the legends surrounding him, the outlaws, and the law from the era. Most with little resemblance to the likely reality, but entertaining, nevertheless.

Just finished it. Seemed like a long Magnum PI episode. Man onFire is far more rewatchable to me.

Movie did get me to thinking about this song. Not sure you'd know this though.

    Clap your hands!

No, I don't know it, not being a fan of most rap music, but don't mind you posting it. Has a great beat. But Magnum PI? I didn't get that vibe. I thought it was a trip. Hey, at least you got to check it out. Your curiosity was satisfied!

So you don't like Western's with guns, and you don't like rap music...what do you like?

    Rock, blues, jazz.

Westerns? Unforgiven, High Noon, Shane, The Searchers, The Wild Bunch, The Professionals, Red River, 3:10 to Yuma, McCabe and Mrs. Miller, The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Tombstone.

Stuff like that. Yeah, I really don't care for most rap music. Can't like everything, or I may as well not have an opinion. ;-)

My wife used to work at a building by The Cowboy Club where they filmed some of the Urban Cowboy stuff. During lunch time one day, Travolta was out practicing the two-step with all the ladies around. She had her minute or two with him.

Back in my late teens, we were at the beach. I was grilling some burgers on a hibachi. A guy came over and asked for one. I turned him down. He said he could get me into Gilley's. I said something to the effect of "why would i want to go to Gilley's". The guy walked away. It was Mickey Gilley.

When my parents first got married and moved to Houston in the 60's, they rented an apartment somewhere along I-45. The complex had a pool and my parents spent a lot of time there. There was a weird guy with a guitar that used to hang around the pool and play and sing. My dad made fun of him and thought he would never make it. That guy's name was Micky Gilley.
