i don't like that it can become 3rd rounder. good deal for a 4th. not so good for a 3rd.

all he has to do is appear in 10 games and it becomes a 3rd round pick. pretty generous for someone who doesn't have a history of being injured I'm told

With Miller and Johnson back there we should run the ball maybe once every 100 plays.

The browns were not trading him for a 6th rounder. He is under contract for 3 years...thats why he was more valuable.

U don’t know what u are talking about. The only reason he was available was because of Kareem Hunt being signed.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here but the fact is that he doesn’t appear to be injury prone. But this isn’t worth arguing about.

It’s just amazing to me how negative people are with anything to do with the Texans. If people don’t like duke johnson because they think he isn’t good or we gave up too much then fine, but people just spouting erroneous stuff like “he is injury prone” to discount the trade just shows an inherent negative bias towards the team.

injury prone, injury history doesn't matter. call it whatever you want.

if there's a clause of you only having to appear in 10 games to get a draft pick compensated that should already flag you. especially for someone who has "played every game". how generous

Sure they do, but we also drafted Justin Reid in the 3rd and Coutee in the 4th.
A disgruntled player with a hamstring injury is not worth a 4th.

So now trade our other comp 3 for Waynes and a second for Trent Williams. This would make us legitimate contenders for the next 3 years. We would also still have our 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th next year and might even trade Clowney for more after this year. This is assuming Duke plays 10 or more games.

So your argument is that he is injury prone or has an injury history because of the 10 games clause, while ignoring the fact that he has never missed a game?

I mean running backs get injured so that’s probably why the clause is there, but that doesn’t mean he has a history of injury. I mean Lamar Miller misses a game or two a year, and no one calls him injury prone.

For all of those angry with the trade, what would you rather they do? We had a need at RB, what would your solution have been?

If the Texans start out 3-6, do they bench/IR him the rest of the way to move up 32 spots in the draft?

Ok this argument is dumb and we just disagree. I don’t think a games requirement compensation makes someone injury prone when they have never missed a game and you do.

if you are playing every single game and apparently healthy, there would be no reason to have such a generous clause. the concept isn't exactly rocket science

Much needed. We’ll likely get a comp 3rd next year so I’d much rather have the immediate help than wait it out.
