Thankfully our government still manages free elections and a balance of power. If Trump had President Xi's powers...
No, the Chinese government sucks far more than our already established institutions. I'm sure Donald Trump has no moral upper hand over Xi Jinping
Trump is a tremendous ass and fortunately we do have some semblance of checks and balances because he would be a dictator. The Chinese government is worse.
If Trump could have Xi’s power he would and with that power I believe he would be worse than even Xi. But thank God we still live in a Democracy of some sort. China sucks but they are currently playing Trump like a fiddle. Just wait till closer to the election to see what Xi will do to bend Trump if this is any indicator of how much they follow behind weak political moments.
Trump is already a pure dictator. Your balances and checks did not work at all. Of course, the Americans being addicted with racism and McCarthyism deserve Trump.
I mean I can be tedious and just start listing all the executive decisions by Trump blocked by our federal court system.
true, it did happen when the federal court system was still working back then......It took time to trump them all. now? Trump's twitter decision is the final decision.
You all are confused, the China one party system should suck, produce a bad government, and USA system should be great, you should have a good government. Now you look at Trump and Xi, they both suck.
if your conviction is that STRONG, i suggest that you buy insurance on your portfolio, buy a protective PUT on the SP 500 etf, SPY
We are losing in the short term because the trade deficit has actually been expanding while Trump has retreated on Chinese telecoms Huawei and ZTE. As shown the other day the PRC has weapons such as allowing their currency to float they can use against us that can create financial chaos. In the long term as others have noted the PRC has been preparing for this and can manipulate their economy in ways that we can't. The PRC as soon as the US stopped pursing the TPP and started battling other countries on trade moved in to sign several trade deals with countries like Brazil and Russia to replace agricultural trade from the US. The PRC has outflanked the US and still has many other weapons they can use. This doesn't mean that the PRC isn't feeling pain but if we measure the trade war in terms of the trade deficit and which side is benefiting the most from negotiations so far it's the Chinese.
Those poor farmers these tariffs are going to cost them everything. http://endoftheamericandream.com/ar...t-farming-crisis-in-modern-history-is-upon-us
https://money.usnews.com/investing/...s-surge-in-us-election-battleground-wisconsin WASHINGTON/CHICAGO (Reuters) - Farm loan delinquencies rose to a record high in June at Wisconsin's community banks, data showed on Thursday, a sign President Donald Trump's trade conflicts with China and other countries are hitting farmers hard in a state that could be crucial for his chances of re-election in 2020. The share of farm loans that are long past-due rose to 2.9% at community banks in Wisconsin as of June 30, the highest rate in comparable records that go back to 2001, according to a Reuters analysis of loan delinquency data published by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. While the number of seriously delinquent farm loans is rising nationwide, the noncurrent rate has more than doubled at Wisconsin's community banks since Trump took office in January 2017. It now stands higher than in any other of the top 10 U.S. farm states as measured in production - a list that includes California, Iowa and Texas. Farmers there could be feeling the pinch more than in other big farming states like Iowa because Wisconsin's crops are touched by multiple fronts of Trump's trade wars, including with China, Canada and Mexico, said John Newton, chief economist at the American Farm Bureau Federation, an agricultural lobby group. Trump, a Republican, won Wisconsin in 2016 by just over 20,000 votes - less than 1% of ballots cast. The state backed Trump's predecessor, Democrat Barack Obama, in the 2008 and 2012 elections.
Yes they are, we had to BORROW money to give a socialist style of pay out to farmers....and we borrowed it from China. Instead of letting those farmers sell their goods to China. DD
