This would actually be near the top of my list for civil war scenarios - things get bad enough with all these shootings that somehow gun confiscation/mandatory buybacks become a thing and whole swaths of the country just refuse and eventually start shooting at any federal presence that comes around looking to enforce the law. I don't think the left understands that this is something that the hardcore gun owners will fight over and I don't think the gun enthusiasts gets how much these regular shootings upset everybody who isn't them.

The army wouldn't be able to use drone strikes and artillery and other heavy weapons, at least early. As they hopefully learned in Iraq, public sentiment is everything in fighting an insurgency.

I didn't say that it was a false flag. I asked the question whether they could be connected. Not much is being said about the Dayton shooter and his support of Elizabeth Warren and the left. I guess it's not a convenient data point for the liberal pile-on crew.

Your particular right isn't all of the right. There are many white nationalist right movements that do have a "infrastructure of urging" - violence and chaos. Just like the left has Antifa that promotes violent tactics. Although, I've never heard of any left-wing ideology promoting mass shootings. Many shootings of late have had political ties to white nationalist right-wing ideologies.
