They don't. Anything related to Spider-Man (Kraven) is owned by Sony. http://www.screenrant.com/sony-marvel-comics-characters-movie-rights/amp/
They'd have to trade Sony something in return, which I'm doubting they're willing to do. For example, Fox wanted to use Negasonic Teenage Warhead for Deadpool (they liked the name) so, they traded Marvel the rights to Ego (Guardians Vol 2). I don't see this being the same case, because Sony is still trying to shovel out their own garbage (Venom). Yeah, it *could* happen, but I don't think it will.
It might be as simple as, yes, develop Kraven and co-brand him with the popular Black Panther franchise, and allow us to use him in future Sony movies. An obscure character like that would be more valuable to Sony that way. Sony said recently they are open to opening up more of their library to Marvel. And Spiderman does revert back soon.
It's not like that at all, Sony is trying to make their own Spider-Man cinematic universe. Why do you think they didn't use Venom in the MCU? Sony already had plans for him. They've also already teased Carnage so you can bet he's off the books, and they have solo movie plans for Morbius as well as Sable/Black Cat. Coogler did state that he wanted Kraven and was told he isn't available -- because they're trying to make a crappy solo movie about him. We don't know what is going to happen after this next Spider-Man movie, Sony could completely take the rights back. There's also rumors Sony might sell their movie studio entirely...
Oh no..., theyre trying to put the current #1 in the rear view in record setting fashion with this one.
Sony is improving their garbage lineup. Even won an Oscar... Spidey might just be a peace offering while they expand to the Spidey verse. I wonder if venom would be as successful without a great Spiderman movie...
Black Panther 2 has a lot of potential if they just make the story more lively. The first one was a bit boring. Namor v Black Panther could be pretty bad ass.
Can’t wait. I wonder if they’ll start working on a new super bad guy like Thanos? BP2 would be a great setting to start sowing those seeds. Definitely interested to see Wakanda’s role in a rebuilt verse.
I said it when it came out, while BP was a good movie they wasted Kilmonger. The movie had so much stuff to establish, they didn't have nearly enough time to flesh him out correctly. His scenes felt shoehorned in for most of the movie, and for the most part all we saw was him being really angry. As he was dying you really felt just how amazing a conflict that could have been, but honestly I didn't give a single f**k about him until he was dying because the character was treated as such a typical throwaway Marvel villain for the first 2 hours. I think BP2 could have been Logan level good if they established Kilmonger in the first movie, and let him be the villain in the second one. I guess there was so much pressure to hit a home run with the first movie they weren't worried about what they were gonna do with the sequel.
The truth is he was fine, but Klau was the more interesting character and they shouldn't have killed him off.
