I read an interview with Perkins where he said when he realized his playing days were over, he tried to get a coaching gig in the NBA. When nobody would hire him, he decided his real calling was as a media guy. Ever since then, he's been one pseudo-hot take after another. Some seem honest and are entertaining, while others come off as nothing more than rumor-chasing. Yet somehow, he's earning a reputation as the guy who's not afraid to tell you how it really is.
Right, this is comical. Say what you will about Tilman, but not sure how on earth you could argue that swapping out a roster spot that's already on a minimum salary is about saving money. Pretty sure it would have been cheaper just to keep Melo, as opposed to pay him for half the season, then pay Chicago to trade for him, then give out a new minimum deal to Rivers, etc. This is a classic case of "throw someone under the bus that fans already don't like" to distract everyone from the reality that Carmelo just isn't good anymore, and that's why they moved on.
Carmelo Anthony killed his own career, when Carmelo was playing defense it was such bad no effort on his part. Guys were constantly attacking him in the paint, getting easy layups. His ego of not wanting to come off he bench sends a bad message to the league. New York and Stephen A Smith always wants to blame Mike Dantoni, and Stephen wants Mike to get fired from the Rockets, Stephen is just petty at this point. Bring on Kevin McHale, Jeremy Lin, Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony to bash the Rockets segment. The team was 10-13 to start the season with Carmelo Anthony. When he got released the rest of the team got energized playing defense. The players trusted each other more, sharing the ball more on offense, Danuel House took Carmelo role. Danuel was running fast break, Shooting 3s, playing solid SF defense. Kenneth Faried was signed and picked up the Center position with Clint injured, Austin Rivers pickup was huge, his defense shooting has been huge.
This is stupid. The Rockets don’t win because they have the best collection of talent, they win because they have a good culture and focus on chemistry. And a key for the culture is around Hardens mannerisms, and skills ability. Carmelo Anthony was disrupting the culture and messing up the viability of the team. He just wasn’t good as a role player that needs to clog the holes, and be efficient. Role players aren’t supposed to consistently be high volume shooter type players. Carmelo might score 20+ points, but how efficiently does he do it. Obviously not too well, because teams weren’t clamoring for his services. Carmelo Anthony humbled himself, according to him, by reluctantly accepting/allowing himself to be a bench role. But the sheer humiliation that he wasn’t even worthy of any of the 9 man rotation spots, heck not even a guy who sits at the end of the bench; remember he reluctantly agreed that he would graciously forego starting duties. He obviously has an ego, and I think that CP3 and Carmelo thought they could pry the Rockets ship from Harden. Which I think is another reason CP3, isn’t here. But that is me inferring from what people say about CP3, how he loves to set and control the direction of the teams he’s a part of. He brought his guy, but if Harden ain’t happy, the lackluster talent on the team isn’t winning enough to even make the playoffs.
I don't see how Anthony was made a scapegoat when the entire front office (including Morey) basically said Carmelo did everything they asked of him, but it just wasn't the fit they had envisioned. Now, with that said, it sure as hell was weird how you'd just up and dump the guy 10 games in. Can we blame Bzdelik instead?
Carmelo is a shithole player. Tilman is a shithole owner. Rockets would be better off without both. @pippendagimp
He is the chrisBroussand or sas of ex player. Just make stuff up Tilman asking Melo to be waived on aon contact? Makes no sense
prepare your buttholes, media just found another excuse to hate on the Rockets when theres nothing else going on
