That majorly reduces the complexity of roster building and increases the frequency of trades. Also, the MLB's massive farm system means there are a lot more prospects of value being passed around and used as trade filler (similar to the NHL). Football and basketball are extremely thin on organizational depth that way. In the NBA you have at best what - 18 guys as trade pieces? In the MLB you might have 40 on an active roster and up to 290 players total. For Greinke, the Astros were able to use 4 significant prospects. The NBA G-league is just not up to snuff for prospect development. Instead, prospects sit on NBA benches or occupy roster spots and bump out depth players. (This is why guys like Lin, Melo, Dwight have so much trouble finding contracts.) [This is not a defense of Tilman. Just trying to prevent Rockets fans from running with an apples-to-oranges narrative. Who knows what Gordon was thinking. Maybe he's not having fun and hates Tilman openly.. maybe he's legitimately praising the Astros.]
Herrera rating 8/10 Imma go a bit deeper though. "Whatever it takes" is reference to yet another hit Imagine Dragons song... ...Imagine Dragons are not only from Las Vegas but might actually comprise the Mayor and Coty Council.... ...Rockets Las Vegas summer league team was mediocre because Till Man wouldn't pony up for the Freemium free agents and only used the trial version. Ergo...its another veiled shot.
Rockets pick up former MVP, Astros pick up former cy young both players currently elite....one thing is for sure, Texans surely suck on whole stinking bags of pickled donkey d!cks. And the stadium will be full for some damn reason.
Yeah, because he is so cheap he traded for signed Chris Paul, Clint Capela and James Harden to monster deals and traded for Westbrook's contract. Some of you guys act like the Rockets are a 60 loss team that doesn't pay their players. The funny thing is the Warriors did the exact same thing, waiting at the last moment to take care of Curry and Klay and still haven't extended Draymond.
Extension were offered to curry , Klay, donkey. They didn't take it. Why would they when you can make more as free agent
I REALLY don’t think this was a dig at Tilman. First off, it’s EG saying it. I doubt EG is involved in much conversation with the front office with respect to the direction of the team’s planned spending or roster build up. He’s not Harden. Only talks with front office he’s probably had was with regards to a contract extension. And he doesn't come off as someone that would get so sour about those talks, that he would go take a dig on Twitter. Nor do we know how these talks are going. Secondly, if our team was to go crazy with spending, it’s been made very clear it would be through acquiring another star, a big time player; and seeing that we have no cap space, it would very likely involve us shipping EG out. So why would he take a dig like that? He’s probably just grown to enjoy the Astros, they made some big moves and he was impressed enough to praise them on Twitter.
I think I was pretty clear in the original OP that I wasn't sure how to take it and was simply asking on Clutchfans for feedback.
In case that was a response to my post right before yours, wasn’t claiming OP was implying that. More my read and a response to those who take it as a dig.
