I said it a while back in this thread, when it came down to it I knew Lunhow would pull the trigger on the right move... I didn't expect this, though. Holy crap. I hate to give up Beer and Rojas, but the risk is very much worth the reward. We have the best front office in baseball and it feels really weird to say that.
It’s fair. Absolutely. Old 25 year old not likely to be much Bat only sloth Damaged goods in Martin JBB wild. Nothing we lost was irreplaceable. This makes our competitive window thru 2021 and then we retool around tucker, Altuve, Bregman and Whitley (and gun to my head probably springer). That’s a 7 year window dating back to 2015. Pretty good.
Guessing 1st game of the Colorado series. Figure it’ll be Urquidy, Cole, Miley, Sanchez, Verlander the rest of this week and then Greinke and Cole vs Colorado. Miley, Verlander, Greinke, Cole, Urquidy/Sanchez after that. Good lord, that’s awesome to look at.
Amazing thing is they plugged 3 holes for next season. They now have 10 pitchers locked into next years staff: Verlander Greinke McCullers Peacock Sanchez Biagini James Devenski Pressly Osuna Which means they only have 3 holes to fill, 2 of which should be held open for competition between the bevy of young arms who will be ready this spring: Whitley Martes Urquidy Abreu Bielak Armenteros Sneed Emanuel Javier Rodgers Guduan Scrubb Ivey Paredes Deetz Valdez Perez They will go into this offseason needing only a catcher (maybe 2) and one good reliever. Amazing.
We outbid the Yankees. We have a potential dynasty. What in the world. In the 1990s I thought I was spoiled watching Biggio and Bagwell but this organization went to a whole new level in the past five or so years capitalizing on one of the biggest tanks in history.
Biagini and Sanchez look like great value buys. Sent quite a bit of value to AZ but i'm not going to cry over Martin, Beer, and Rojas. Even JBB will likely end up as a reliever.
I think it’s fixed for 2 more years. This will give astros plenty of time to replenish what they lost today.
Awww too bad. Would have been great punching him in the face while he was punching himself in the face.
· 36m There was more but it’s heading to Houston. To Astros: Aaron Sanchez, Joe Biagini, outfield prospect Cal Stevenson. To #BlueJays: Outfielder Derek Fisher. @ShiDavidi first.
