Nobody asked if he will keep shooting those midrange shots or not. I was waiting for that single question.
I've heard/read the word sacrifice a few times now. I like that. It won't work without that, and they know it
I know that felt like maybe an obvious answer, but it was a good one and something that was nice to hear as a Rockets fan who's loathed the guy for the last decade. Seeing him next to Morey with the logo behind him is one thing, but it's another to actually see that calmer demeanor. So much of what I remember from the guy is negative because of all the negative soundbites in interviews over the years and his intensity and play on the court. Seeing a few minutes of this helped me get over that Westbrook hate just a little bit.
I kept waiting for that idiot reporter to ask something about the floods like he kept doing with Draymond Green. Maybe he got banned?
I do think Russ brought up a good point when it came to switching on defense and rebounding though, I never really thought of how his rebounding could help in that sense and I guess if Clint is switched out on the perimeter it'll be nice to have another guy just go after rebounds aggressively like he does. Reminds me a bit of Pat and how his rebounding helped us.
Westbrook's commitment and passion feels a lot more genuine than Carmelo's comments last year. I never thought Carmelo would be okay having a lesser role.
He certainly said all the right things. I love the excitement he showed about playing with James (and apparently the excitement James had about playing with him). It definitely made it seem like these guys will be able to figure out the fit very quickly.
