Good return for White; Scrubb is a former 8th round pick with good numbers. Odd trade for LA. Do they expect to be able to pass him through waivers? Do they just want to grill him on Houston’s signs and methods?
He will be close to a grill no doubt Obviously, LA thinks they can dial back his clock and get 2017-18 numbers out of him. The guy we got in return doesn't like look a scrub to me More than a bag of Doritos for sure!
Franklin Stubbs for Terry Wells all over again. I don't get the trade from the LA perspective. I would have taken some frito lays for him.
No! Don't ask them... they have made their feelings on the subject known. I am not certain you'd get an unbiased answer!
I haven't been able to find a decent scouting report on this guy. Does anyone have some real knowledge on him?
So what are the rules on this? Can the Dodgers send him to the minors? Or does he have to be on their MLB team or get released?
Scrubb, 24, was drafted by the Dodgers in the 8th round of the 2016 draft from High Point, a DI school in North Carolina. With Tulsa (AA), he was 6-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 29 appearances (2 starts). Scrubb pitched 47.2 innings and allowed 17 runs (13 earned) on 35 hits (3 HR allowed), walked 23 (one intentionally), and struck out 56. Opponents hit .200 against him and he carries a WHIP of 1.22. Scrubb stands 6-4, 265. He was in Double-A so he'll probably join Corpus. Scrubb is probably in that low second/upper third tier of relief prospects like Colin McKee, Yohan Ramirez, and Ronel Blanco.
