Even the most noble Republicans in the past since Nixon have used coded racially divisive tactics. It’s only new that Trump doesn’t use coded language and just goes straight up racist.

McCain is a national hero and one of the more honorable members the party has had but his campaign was no different than any other Republican. They even went as far as to nominate Freaking Sarah Palin.

Since LBJ signed into law the Civil Rights Act it opened up the southern white strategy that Republicans have seized on and stayed in power mostly because of. Appealing to aggrieved white low information voters has been the staple of the Republican Party since LBJ and Nixon set the playbook that even the likes of John McCain have used to turnout voters in the sun belt and the Midwest to stay in power.

John McCain was no different because John McCain knew in order to win he needed voters like you to show up.

this whole episode is really showing how inept the dems are. trump is controlling the narrative and keeping the dems on the defensive. it would be so easy to flip this on him. dems should be constantly hammering home the fact that trump is lying about omars comments and that he is the one with anti-american values.

trump had that interview where bill o'reilly pointed out that putin is a killer, to which trump replied "there are lots of killers...you think we're so innocent".

he said POWs are not heroic b/c they were captured.

he attacked a gold star mother.

he fights with our democratic allies while cozying up to authoritarian thugs all over the world.

his 2016 campaign slogan was "make america great again". he kept saying how stupid our country was and how every other country was so much smarter than us and was ripping us off. if he despises our country so much then why didnt he leave?

trump is obviously the one with anti-american values. he is the one who hates this country and what we stand for.

trump is good at developing a simple message and constantly repeating it. thats what dems should be doing. it would be so easy to do.

    1) trump is lying about what omar and AOC said
    2) trump is the one with anti-american values
    3) trump is a xenophobe and a racist - keep pointing out all the examples.
    4) trump was lying when he said he tried to stop the chants at the rally.

....go on every news show you can and highlight these facts...rinse and repeat. but instead, dems are on the defensive.

trump is in an interesting position now - what happens at the next rally when his s***head supporters start chanting "send her back". if he tries and stop them they might turn on him. if he doesnt stop it then it further bolsters the narrative that is already out there that all his supporters are racists, nativists and xenophobes.

Ive been saying this for a while, the dems are p*****s. He's already winning by propagating lies. If they can't tackle something like this maybe they deserve to lose until they get the right leadership.

Size matters not, and she is an existential threat to the American way of life.

What does thinking that Trump is racist have to do with being employed?

Usually for a meme to have comedic value it has to have some grounding reality to be relatable.

These dudes get most their news from YouTube channels, twitters, and forums. Their logical train of thought deviates so much from how normal people think.

Honestly its also a projection of their mindset of low expectations. They think being employed is some impressive feat. @BruceAndre probably got his first proffesional job and thinks he accomplished a great feat that few are capable of.

She is not even a threat to your way of life, much less than the rest of America. You can still post crap online and blame immigrants and others for your and your family's condition in life.

Scary and surreal. People chanting to deport someone who is a U.S. citizen and congresswoman at a presidential campaign rally... simply for political disagreement.

Embarrassing for us as a country, Trump and his alt-right following are garbage.

How exactly are they supposed to be tackling this?

And what do you mean they?

    Democrats are not a monolith.

they need to do what republicans do, which is develop simple, basic talking points and have everyone out there constantly hammering them. take any and all opportunities to point out that trump is the one with anti-american values. take those four points i listed a few posts above and repeat them over and over and over again. point out that trump said POWs are not heroic and never apologized for it. point out that he attacked a gold star mother. point out that he is alienating us from our democratic allies while cozying up to authortarian thugs. point out that he said neo-nazis are very fine people.

i dont see democrats doing much or any of that. instead they are letting trump control the message and continue to say that dems hate america and that omar loves al-queda. they are stuck on the defensive instead of "counter-punching" as trump likes to say he does.

So you want Democrats to not have their own ideas?

Yes it would be politically advantageous but is that representative of the party as a whole?

and I don't know what you read or watch but I see plenty of all of this stuff and I watch about 2 hours a day of not more of news.

Most of these things Hillary Harper on in the election and the news definitely repeated the POW thing and it did not matter.I

most people know about these topics and either don't care or have made up there minds non of that is new news.

Trump controls the message because he is president and he keeps doing outrageous stuff what democrats need to do is stop reacting to everything.T

Now I agree there needs to a simplifying of message but I think that will happen ounce the Democratic field is narrowed and ousting Trump becomes more tangible.

For their self respect they should try to impeach him. After he has gone from office, no mercy should be shown on criminally investigating his likely financial and sex crimes with minors.

    Self respect?

Come on dude there are plenty of other things to do for self respect.

This is most of my issue with the impeachment argument most want for the self respect of the party and the virtue signalling it encompasses.

She is the smartest of the four morons. She is cunning as hell but she does make gaffs and she has already revealed her hatred.

Who revealed their hatred? The person who worked hard to get elected to Congress to serve the United States and its citizens or the people screaming hateful things towards her?

This is the false narrative used by racists to justify their hate.

"The Muslims hate America they should go back"
