Jackson was the #4 pick 2 years ago. The Carter-Melton swap of 2nd year PGs is a bit of shuffling deck chairs, but I don’t get the Jackson and 2 2nds for Korver to buy out.

Jackson is a trouble maker. He was arrested and accused of something to do with mar1juana. He’s gotten into a lot of trouble lately. I think they really wanted to get out of that contract.

If the Rockets can somehow get Iggy and sign Cousins to a veterans minimum deal, I will be extremely happy. If not Cousins, I would be fine with a guy like JaVale McGee on a similar deal to Rivers.

Left will be Boogie, JaMychal, Iggy via trade, don't think Justin holiday or Marcus Morris are options.

Justin Holiday would be nice. Do the Clippers have Green's bird rights?

    Current roster

    Paul / Rivers
    Harden / Gordon
    House / Green
    Tucker / Clark
    Capela

Non-Guaranteed players - Hartenstein, Daytona Davis, Chiozza, Fraizer

    Exhibition 10 contracts - Clemons, Ponds, McDowell-White

Remaining FA's who could fit our team, in order of age -

Forwards/Wings - Korver, Sefolosha, Moute, Cunningham, Jerebko, L.Thomas, Holiday, Simmons, Stephenson
Bigs - Nene, Chandler, Noah, Mejri, Udoh, Koufos, Motiejunas, Birch, Lyles, Diallo

None of these players are worth our non-taxpayer MLE or BAE / hard capping ourselves for. So it's a safe bet that we will only be using the remaining 2.2 million of our taxpayer MLE.

What we do with Shumpert will be interesting. If we don't re-sign to a large deal as a trade filler for later in the season, or use him right now for a S&T, we will remain below the luxury tax. What we do with him will say a lot about Tilman/Morey's mindset/goals - as @treyk3 pointed out earlier today.

Sefolosha and Lance Thomas are nice adds at wings, and then Chandler, and Noah as the 3rd big

I would throw the entire MLE on Tyson Chandler. If you're gonna pay Shump 4M as trade filler might as well sign Jonathan Simmons to that amount he's stricly an upgrade to Shumpert.

If we use our NT MLE we are hard capped, which is not smart considering who's left and that our only way to really improve is through trade. We can throw our entire 2.2 million TP-MLE at Chandler, but I'm pretty sure that makes no difference from a vet min for him. If we signed Simmons to a 4 mill deal, that would have to involve our NT-MLE, again can't/should not do that. Re-signing Shump would be purely to use him as a trade piece, since he played for us last year we still have his non-bird rights and can re-sign him up to 120% of his previous contract with us without using our MLE.

I don't know what all the fuss is about?

Clearly the take away message was that none of the free agents was "our pick".

Sources are telling me the Rockets plan to be very active in the post-preseason couch free agent market, as they have been in recent years.

Look for us to have pick of the litter.

Korver is on the market now! Would be a good bench addition and can play spot up minutes next to Harden or CP3 and still shoot the lights out. Again, spot up minutes off the bench only!
