Tbh i'd rather have someone else over him and Shumpert lol, but overall i think they're pretty much at the same level, Shumpert is a better defender, Burks a better scorer although he's super streaky...let's say i think House is much better at this point.
I don't believe that he signed with the Warriors. Is GSW now the default option for any cheap FA? I HOPE they don't have any more roster spots so we can also get someone.
Hey, if they can move Westbrook's awful contract and not take an equally bad one in return, that plus the picks for George will make it WAY more than a solid summer. A week ago, this was a capped out Thunder team (and one of, if not the, most expensive in the league) with a string of first round playoff exits and no evident avenue to improve. Westbrook wanting out is a gift from the gods - with some luck, they could pull of a Celtics or Pelicans style reboot over the next few years.
i have to disagree. going from relevant and a team that you could at least say was a few tweaks away to a team that will be irrelevant for the foreseeable future and cannot attract free agents is not a solid summer IMO. Those draft picks will be non lottery for at least 2 years and maybe more and since the lottery has been reconfigured, tanking is not ideal. Yes they did make the best of a bad situation and did it quite well but to say it was solid? I don't know about that.
I don’t think that team was a few tweaks away, I think they were FAR more flawed than that. And even if they were, their cap situation meant they had zero ability to make significant tweaks. This is a team whose ceiling was a second round loss. And that’s being charitable. It’s time for them to blow it up. And if they manage to get out of Westbrook’s contract, that would be a huge win.
I think they were a flawed team but they were still a 50 win team. When will they get back to that? Unlike many I can enjoy a 50 win team that does not win a championship far more than a team who will suck for the foreseeable future. But that's just me.
