Warriors are hobbled and KD is gone.
    No Klay
    No Iggy
    No KD

Key guys against us and 3 of their 4 best defenders... They should see a huge stepback defensively and greater struggles on offense... Curry will be required to do more than ever and thus will be more susceptible to injury.

    We're better.

Jazz... They made some good additions, but we're still better at almost every position and have the matchup advantages.

    We're better.

Blazers made some changes but mostly lateral moves... I'd argue worse moves.... They'll be without Nurkic for a chunk of the season as well.

    We're better.

Nuggets are a good team, but they're young and haven't shown they can be consistent... No one will be surprised by them this year and I wouldn't be surprised if they have a worse season this year... I expect them to be good, but regress.

Lakers are the obvious threat and if they get Kawhi it'll likely be too much to overcome, but if they don't... We're better.

We actually are in a better situation heading into this season than last year...

It may not look sexy to the media or some of the casuals here that we've only resigned the guys we had last year.... But those players fit with what we do and provide us more depth to start the season... Which will only make things better for Harden and CP outta the gates... And we may still add another quality wing.

Many teams are dealing with new additions... greater roster question marks.. And will have to gel and find their chemistry.

We have continuity and the best roster/rotation out West atm.

    We're better than nobody

We have no idea what ours guys have left

We have no idea how good other teams will be

This "we have the core , we are a top contender " mindset is exactly how we entered last season and got off to an 11-14 start . Paul was healthy for much of that stretch ... he just played like **** .

I like that we have some depth at the begining of the season now . But we need way more . Our frontcourt that MDA trusts is essentially Clint and PJ .... and pj is 34 .

I dunno what form our guys will find this year. With an older team you want to pace yourself , but if we get off to a slow start with MDA it's gonna be 40 min nights for PJ and CP3 and James .

I think this is our year. we've been there for 2 years in a row and now is our time!

even if the lakers do get kawhi, Miami didn't win in their first year of lebron/wade/bosh because they didn't have any depth. very different story by year 2. we have a unique window this season that may not be there next year when the lakers have a big 3 and depth, and the warriors are back to full strength.

by the way I don't count out the warriors THIS YEAR. Klay will be back for the playoffs. they plan on trading Russell for a better fit. and don't they have a $17M TPE somehow? they will be loaded come playoff time. but we'll have the better seed and HCA again.

If you think this way .... and I tend to

That means coaching is at fault .

Btw , what is going on with our coaching situation ?

Rockets do have a great team. I think Luc Richard Mbah a Mouta and Jabari Parker would put them over the top if they were added to the bench. Rockets need a good bench.

Wrong and you didn't address anything I stated... We have more depth out the gate than we did last year and other teams got worse....

You're wrong again... We got off to an 11-14 start because we didn't have suitable depth and were playing new bums like MCW and Melo significant minutes... Not only that, but CP got suspended after opening night for 2 games and then Harden got injured for 3 games right before CP returned.

And everyone is forgetting that we have one thing no other team will have - Houston Rockets Championship Throwback Jerseys!!! If that doesn't add at least 10 wins and a guaranteed trip to the Finals nothing will.

Rockets good because James Harden playing at god level last season.

Harden is gonna drop 35+ pts again to save this team?

    CP3 degrades season after season.
We are still that midgets lineup and pathetic on rebounding.

We are the favourite? I dont think so.
