Will he be ok with a bench role? We fit his style..and he can set the 2nd units on fire. If I was him, i would give it a go.
Demarcus Cousins is the most underrated passing big in the NBA. But, he will definitely not come off the bench. If you sign Cousins you need to ship Capela too.
Id take him no doubt....i just don’t want him to be all we get from here on out, still need some others.
I would gladly take him to be the backup to Capela (if we are keeping him). As long as it is for below the MLE and on a one and one deal. Similar contract to Rivers would be even better. Veterans minimum for two years with a player option in year two.
I really think Morey would be in play for Cousins if it were not for the fact that he's not a coveted asset by other teams. Considering what Melo was, Cousins is much better risk to take.
Yes you gotta take the chance. The odds he puts us over the top to win is much greater than him being enough of a negative to prevent us from winning.(assuming we didn’t have him.) His value is as low as it’s gonna get,, gotta buy low when we don’t have much flexibility and could actually fill a position of need. Not like we can do better than cousins as a big at this point and if it works out that’s a huge plus.
I guess I'm not understanding you but what about Cousins' offense makes pairing Clint and him together a bad thing? One relies on the PnR game to generate easy buckets around the rim while the other can stretch his game out to the 3 point line.
This was a guy expecting a $100M+ contract that was constantly in 2OT games with ridiculous stats on teams that never won. Why is he still available and possibly for the min? That’s not just us, that’s everybody. This guy can easily average 20/10. Why isn’t everyone tripping over themselves to lock him up? You can get a 1 in 5 high quality game from him and 4/5 Dwert. That’s the Melo formula too. Great players submit to coaching and eliminate weaknesses through hard work and introspection.
man sign that fool for about 8-9 mil and trade that bum capela and we can pick up another player. atleast cousins can hit open shots.
I feel for Boog, I'm a card carrying member of the Boogie Cousins fan club but he made a stupid decision last summer, he should've taken the money from New Orleans and sat last season out. He turned down 40 million dollars and now he's looking at making 7 mil in the same span. Its unfortunate. I don't know if he's athletic enough to play in MDA'S system but wherever he signs I hope he has a comeback player of the year type year just to get his earnings potential back up to the standard of his peers
