Hard to blame Harden when we've literally just spoon fed this iso system on him. Both Cp's and Harden's contract are a hinder and no one wants to come into a system where they are just waiting for the ball. It probably isn't fun and not worth a paycut. The Rockets have alot to work on. I still wouldn't count on D'Antoni not getting fired before his contract is up. Also... Harden is in China... he should be recruiting with CP3. They made this mess.... in fact he and Morey both made this mess... It should be both their jobs to fix the issue.
Both were had when it was apparent they were declining. We need a top 10-12 player to pair him with but instead we get dwindling former all stars who just need a few last checks so they can spend the rest of their lives doing absolutely nothing but making us angry as commentators on TNT. See Cherles Barkley, Tmac, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Guess who's next on that list? Dwight Howard and CP3.
Okay lets take harden out of the equation Who the hell would want to come and play in this system and compete for a championship? Tilman morey mda cp3 capela tucker ego
It is ok to disagree, but you can see it, and the way we run our franchise with so much out in the open, and guys PUBLICLY on the trading block. I get that Harden is great, and even Hakeem came back from being selfish late in his career, let's hope Harden does too - but he is a very selfish player - and just because a lot people wear rose colored glasses here, doesn't make it untrue. Harden has some maturing to do or he is going down as a great offensive player, Hall of famer - who was just not quite good enough to realize that doing less sometimes is better for the entire team. DD
No it was not. Cp and Dwight were coveted FAs dude. And Cp was a top 10-12 player just two years ago. And Cp is still a good player btw, I dont what you are talking about.
For as long as you’ve been on this board ...it’s crazy that you got it all wrong! Lol goes to show that you might be a Rox fan but your not a tru b-ball fan ...or shall I say you don’t have a tru understanding of the game itself ...harden did all he could with what was given to him. If he had an established all star player alongside him that can create his on O on a consistent basis while not getting injured on the regular I believe it’d be a diff outcome *btw butler wanted to start a new team that revolved around him and didn’t want to be a third star after two were already here ...that’s not a knock on harden...FA not wanting to come here should be blamed on the FO
When he did less this team was stinking it up. When Paul went down and harden went nuclear is when the rockets went on that crazy run and had the best record in the nba after the 11-14 start.... so what is it? Do less and let the team stink it up or win and let him do his thing?
James Harden does what the coach wants him to do. He doesn’t coach the team, he doesn’t demand that we play this way. I think you’ve gone off the reservation, DD. You’re demonizing James because a deal fell through, in my humble opinion. The world is not ending. At least I don’t think it is.
No one wants to stand around and watch someone else play offense even as good as he is, and that fails and will continue to fail in the playoffs. We need more balance - that is a fact, and it is not because we don't have the players to do it, it is because our coaching staff is too weak to force it, and our org feeds into it..... We need more balance - especially on offense or this team around Harden will never win a chip. DD
Well get him help so he doesn’t have to iso it up. We saw when Paul was still Paul it wasn’t just ISO Harden. Last season was out of Necessity because Paul went down and he lost a step. I like Eric bit he is a terrible ISO player. Who else as going to carry the load?Spread the load with who House? Rivers? All these great franchise players or even stars? It’s a miracle he has kept this franchise relevant with the garbage he has had to work it. Get him help and don’t tell no one wants to come here. It’s because we have no money to offer and our trade assets are garbage. Let this sink in, in 2012 the Rockets were planning to build around Jeremy Lin yes the same guy who is a irrelevant scrub who will probably be out of the league, until Harden fell into moreys lap.
It's probably the system. They can't see how this system can support a 3rd star when the 2nd star doesn't really get time to run the show and just stands in the corner the other time.
Nothing wrong with what we have here now, it was enough to win, but we have zero ball and body movement - we need to play more team oriented - and get more touches, we can still take as many 3s, but the ISO offense is used far too much - don't go away from it entirely, but tone it way way down so teams that we play in the playoffs have something else to worry about. It is why Harden struggles in the playoffs, he is still good, but teams can focus on him and game plan around our gimmicky offense and it fails. DD
@DaDakota never misses a chance to **** on Harden - good on you for staying on brand! Butler proved that being the man in a fun city is more important to most players than being a cog in the machine, even a championship-level one. But is that really showing that they don't want to play with Harden? Or is it the allure of having top-billing? There's a lot of ego at play here - Butler isn't the type to be a second banana ANYWHERE, not just in Houston. How did he go sharing the spotlight with KAT in Minnesota? And how did he go with Embiid and Simmons in Philly? I don't see why there's any anger being directed at Harden here. He's the only reason the Rockets are in the upper echelon of NBA teams. Management, however, has a lot to answer for in how they've constructed the roster and all the bullshit bravado they put out every offseason about chasing stars. I'd much prefer them to concentrate on upgrading the depth around one of the most dynamic and winningest players in the NBA. Get James some more solid help - maybe more than one versatile forward over 6'8 would help - and watch the wins go past 60 again.
Don't blame Harden! I think the free agents don't want to come to Houston because our front office so publicly announced anyone was available. Players are people and agents don't want their players treated as a number asset. Our FO needs to be more sensitive. The owner needs to keep quiet.
THE real deal is the team wasn't good enough to win. Wing players are way too small. It hurts you on clise outs , 50-50 balls and on the defensive glass. We have to get bigger.
Perhaps but I think CP3 has enough credibility in the league that you can question whether it's entirely him or the system where 1 of the 5 players on offense was not fully committed when he ran the point.
