What's the deal with Yuli? I didn't see the game, but the boxscore says he hit a walkoff double - if he was hobbled, I'd think he'd have just stopped at first since it didn't matter?

He appeared to have tweaked his ankle as he was hustling to try and beat out a grounder for an infield hit in the eighth(?) inning.

Right - but if he unnecessarily ran to 2nd on the walkoff in the 10th, it seems to suggest he was fine, right? (didn't see the game so just trying to figure it out)

He didn’t run to second, he meandered out there. Seattle CF dived and didn’t bother to get up and Brantley strolled around from second. No lack of hustle from anyone on the play just nothing that requires running hard (or the M’s CF getting up after a dive for the ball) to extend the play. Yuli looked bad.

I was thinking quad or hamstring. Actually feel a little better hearing ankle. I mean, better long term, not better about him dodging the IL.

So Yuli sucks for most of the season, than gets hot, than gets injured.

    Sounds about right.

Have we heard ankle from the Astros? The post above was just a fan observation. I would much prefer ankle to another hamstring...

honestly looked like a knee to me. Regardless, this is insane. I've never seen a team with this sort of bad injury luck.

Bordering on Yankees start to the season.
It’s a real testament to how well both organizations are running that they are at the top of the league with all those injuries.

If Alvarez is going to remain out, they need to IL somebody and get another available bat (although Yordan did look pretty spry in the celebration last night).

    Thanks.

He should be a DH then... .and just hit HR's so he doesn't have to run hard.

If Reddick and Stassi are options at first, I don't see why Tucker couldn't be. Let's just put a pitcher out there.

    BS

How would any of us know? His not playing an inning there in his 5 years with the Astros should maybe tell you something though, especially given how much the Nerd Cave values positional versatility.
