I think Clint will keep getting better, but it's very difficult for a big man to be an all-star.

    Philadelphia 76ers

When Jimmy Butler and the 76ers meet this weekend, one factor that will hold critical importance: The fifth year on Philadelphia’s contract offer, league sources have said. Rival teams interested in the All-Star believe that Butler and his agent, Bernie Lee, will prioritize the fifth year. Could the lack of one open Butler up to further meetings on the market? The 76ers remain fully focused on trying to re-sign both Butler and Tobias Harris.

Don’t think anyone doubts capela has a good work ethic. A center like Rudy gobert can make all nba and all defensive teams. And be dpoy and still not make the all star team. That’s how difficult it is for centers like them to make the all star team these days. If you’re not a big man like the ad’s/embiids/kats, the likelihood of making the as team is pretty slim. He’ll need some injuries to play a factor to help also

If Butler's focus is wanting that 5th year from Philly, then the Rockets have no chance. And the payday will be the priority.

This is what I've suspected all along. It may be similar to Bosh. If he isn't getting the max max he's willing to leave, if they do offer it he's staying.

Sucks to not get him, but I’m at least happy we dodge the hard cap. We’ll see what Morey can do.

Which is slightly odd to me because word has been for a while that Philly will offer the 5 year deal

If this is the truth, James knew. Morey knows by now. He’s got something else ready to go.

It's outright crazy to believe that if he gets traded to Boston he will be an All Star.
He will be at best their 3rd or 4rth most important player. Do people really believe that Boston is going to win 70 games to have 3 all stars?
Or that Capela will make it over Kemba and Tatum?

Yeah that's a Sham's quote too. Rockets "feel confident" during the week because Philly wasn't offering the 5th year. But come FA they will.

Let’s wait and see. He may end up going to the Kangz, where he’ll fade into irrelevance. But yes if he averages 17/12 on 60% shooting with 2 blocks and 2 assists he’s an allstar in the east

Brown didn't get back on one play. Normally he's extremely good on defense and works very hard. It doesn't at all make it sound like he's a "locker room cancer."

On the bigger topic: Almost surely Boston is using its cap space on Kemba. If so they can't absorb Capela into cap space so the only way to do this is in a very complicated multi-team trade, which may be hard to pull off. ...though Morey is creative. Maybe it can happen.

Who really knows? The reports about the 5th year being on the table could be Butler's agent putting it out there to try to force Philly to actually do it. It's impossible to know. The last 24 hours we've seen reports that make it sound like the 5th year MIGHT not really be there.

I’m happy if he stays in Philly and it was never a great fit so focus on getting draft picks for Capela and then sign some good players for depth.

He still wouldn’t make it over kemba or Tatum. And Boston sending 3 all stars isn’t exactly a likelihood

    Please read the article.
McMullan is clearly insinuating that Brown went out at 2 am to party at Miami and then came to play with a hungover which angered his teamates.
On top of it, previous reports that showed that he was arrogant, and a snob alienating his teammates and then demanding touches and playing time, it's easy to see that she says that Brown is a lockeroom cancer.

Philly always could pull the lever on a 5th year. To me "Rockets being confident" should mean they know Butler has an interest in Houston OVER that 5th year. If that is not the case, then Houston being "confident" is dumb AF.

Dump Capela for picks and then sign one player for the MLE and a bunch of minimums and we'll be worse. Yay.

I'll say this: If he re-signs with Philly quickly in FA then the Rockets FO should be embarrassed and ashamed.
