Remember when we were good? Damn those were good times. We need an arm Lunhow ... make it happen soon.
This is embarrassing. Yes, baseball is a long season and they will still most assuredly win the division, but my goodness that doesn’t mean these losses aren’t embarrassing. Our pitching depth is a MAJOR concern right now. We don’t have any AAA arms who can effectively contribute and our major league arms are struggling mightily (Peacock, Valdez before he was sent down, Devo, now Sneed).
Yep. Aint nothing to get to concerned about. This team is still going to win the division. They will likely win 100 games. If they get a hammer in the rotation to pitch game 3 of the ALDS and are healthy in the lineup going into October they are probably the betting line favorite to win the World Series. Perhaps yall have forgotten how ugly August of 2017 looked?
Morton and LMJ would of rounded out this rotation well...oh well. lets hope for a big splash at the deadline
Like I said before, we need a 3rd starter after Verlander and Cole and a reliable 7th inning guy to get to Pressly and Osuna. If we can't win with those two added pieces, it wasn't meant to be.
First home series loss of the season. The offense and pitching were deplorable, but at least no sweep.
I went to the game...it sucked. We were down 4-0 before I even got in my damn seats. I did bump into Julia Morales, which was kind of cool.
I'm a little concerned for the first time this season. This seems worse than your typical slump that every team goes through at least once every season. The Astros have some real weaknesses that Luhnow needs to address between now and July 31st. Other teams, including BAD teams, have exposed those problems over the past few weeks. I don't think we can blame this on injuries anymore. The Astros definitely need another starting pitcher, and possibly another reliever. But my biggest concern is the offense...it's been putrid with RISP. I'm starting to think that maybe we're relying a bit too much on swinging for the fences. And the sooner we can get Tyler White off the team somehow, the better. With that said, we're still gonna win the division by 10+ games and win 95-105 games. Sorry, Rangers fans.
This team needs to evolve. They need a starter, probably a legit 3, and a good arm in the pen. The offense will be fine. This is an UGLY stretch, but I have to think it’s an outlier.
The Pirates are my 2nd favorite team after the Astros mostly because of Roberto Clemente and his humanitarian efforts throughout the Americas. Bill Brown was on the Radio broadcast today and shared a story I had never heard. It was reminiscent of a scene is La Bamba . Brown goes on to tell the story of Tom Walker, Roberto's friend. Tom was supposed to be in that plane headed to Central America until Roberto told him to go home and party, it was NYE. That dark story by Brown was the highlight of this game for me. The posters that are 200 years old on this board have probably heard that story but my mind was blown.
