I think his value is versatility in defense plus 3pt shooting. It will be tough to see how you let go of both Clint and Tucker and expect to do well defending 4-5s, plus rebounding etc. Specially since they will be hard capped to get other decent FAs.
It doesn't really matter if the Rockets are willing to offer whomever for Jimmy Bulter, first they have to convince Jimmy to come to Houston (shouldn't be too hard) the more concerning thing in this situation is to attempt to convince the 76ers that they need to make a trade with us. It's not like we have a plethora of quality players waiting to sign with the Rockets so that they can get an easy ring. Chances are we might be able to get Tyson Chandler/DeAndre/Nene to work at the Center position but getting rid of PJ will hurt the heart and soul of our chemistry. Jimmy is an amazing 2-way player but he's not exactly patient with a situation that isn't immediately rewarding. We are definitely playing with a ticking time bomb, worse so than when we signed Melo this most recent off season. PJ is pretty darn close to CP3 and Harden right? So there has to be some sort of understanding between all parties involved? Then again not trading for the best player possible when you have an opportunity to do so can give your current franchise players the feeling that you aren't making the best possible moves to get the best possible results. All if this sounds great if we get who we want, but there has to be a lot of other quality players willing to bite the bullet in order to sign for cheap. Not to mention it's very doubtful that the Rockets will get far in the post season again unless they get Harden/Paul+ whomever else involved to MOVE THE BALL and use ISO possessions significantly less.
Speak for yourself. He’s trying to improve the roster, and if it means trading PJ then that’s what has to happen.
lol the trades not even gonna happen in the first place, Morey won't have the chance to trade him for butler.
I love PJ Tucker but dude will be 35 years old by the time the playoffs come around. That doesn't worry any of you?
At 43 I have my faith in the young buck PJ Tucker @ 35. Also to the OPs point. We will thumbsdown Karens video like Yao's first allstar selection. DON'T DO IT MOREY!
Even if PJ not traded, his minutes need to be managed better and Rockets really need to upgrade at 4 spot. Maybe even have Tucker coming off bench.
I'd like Stanley Johnson for the min, dude sucks on offense, but he's Thicc like Tuck and can D up almost any position in a crunch.
