so Reg season rebound rank (per 100 possessions - wouldnt want pace to misrepresent - lol) 18-19 28th at 42.4 17-18 16th at 44.1 16-17 20th at 43.9 15-16 25th at 43.4 14-15 19th at 44.6 13-14 8th at 46.2 12-13 18th at 44.6 ...which stat is the outlier again?
Overall Rebound % 12/13 - 11th 13/14 - 7th 14/15 - 17th 15/16 - 23rd 16/17 - 17th 17/18 - 14th 18/19 - 28th 18/19 is the outlier of the group.
and Rebound % per 100 in reg season ranking... 18-19 28th 17-18 14th 16-17 17th 15-16 23rd 14-15 17th 13-14 7th 12-13 11th ...and you would not characterize this as good... mediocre... and falling off a cliff... but then I guess you wouldn't as you consider last year - 14th (of 30 teams) to be 'excellent' ...ok.... lol
With our switching scheme (which is brilliant) we only need to be middle of the pack when it comes to grabbing boards. Gotta get some solid forwards to go with PJ. CP3/Beard/Tuck/Clint all do solid job hitting the glass. Need a couple more guys to add to that mix, similar to how Luc and Trev played for us. I’d love to see Jimmy Butler and Trevor Ariza added this offseason.
I would call that essentially middle of the pack with 1 good year, 1 bad and 1 terrible. Hardly a team that consistently ignores rebounding as a priority. And our poor rebounding this season had nothing to do with our pace or 3 point bombing like you assumed. And again. You know what you were doing. Sticking in a dig on analytics for reasons that aren’t reality.
I mentioned Beverley possible return to Rockets on May 26th in post #34 of, “Rockets-Warriors Post-Mortem: A Simple Report Card”, thread.
Synonyms of mediocre common, fair, indifferent, medium, middling, ordinary, passable, run-of-the-mill, run-of-the-mine (or run-of-mine), second-class, second-rate, so-so https://www.merriam-webster.com/thesaurus/mediocre ...and no, I dont think our pace or 3 point bombing have anything to do with rebounding numbers... I only mentioned pace bc per 100 possessions seems to be a better indicator as it adjusts for pace... if anything the long 3s should be a benefit - typically they are longer rebounds and we obviously arent boxing out to get the board at the rim... of course, if James is sagging back to halfcourt then he's really not even in position for the long rebound.... but it is what it is i guess... I've always said analytics have their place... they are great component to have when making an evaluation of a situation or practice - but they are not the end all conclusion that so many like to make them out to be...
Try to twist and turn, but...Let’s get back to the root of your argument....What you said was that Morey’s analytics approach has somehow blinded him to the need for athletic rebounders. That’s a garbage take and not reality.
hell yea...give him the full MLE. we have no state tax! California has high taxes! that's a lot of money bro!!!!
Apparently Bev said he thinks he can help save the Bulls. https://bleacherreport.com/articles...ning-bulls-i-bleed-chicagoi-can-save-the-city
No, i got bags full of cookies. Ask the rumor mill insiders if they want a cookie for regurgitating my stuff
I wonder what the Celtics are thinking right now. They just lost out on AD...would they possibly trade for CP3? Hayward, Brown, a first round pick, and Horford for CP3, Capela, and Gordon? Would that trade work? I mean, would it even be of interest to them?
At least I’ve seen that trade suggested on some of their blogs anyways. Maybe that’s too complicated of a deal. Or maybe it doesn’t even seem fair. I just wonder..what they are thinking right now.
They’re most likely gonna lose Kyrie. Seems like Tatum is the only guy completely untouchable for them. Maybe you could sell the concept of pairing an “all-star” PG with Tatum and see if they foolishly bite.
