Why Cesario? The patriots hardly make any moves for good players. It’s more like belicheck knows how to get the most out of his players.
It is amazing to me the level of arrogance and control Bill O’Brien has with Texans ownership. He leaked to the media for years whenever someone on the Texans failed, it was Rick Smith’s fault. O’Brien actually managed to ingratiate himself with the Texans ownership over The Godfather of the owners son and the man that attended church and post church activities with the owner of the team. He then took heat off himself and had Smith fired. Bill then handpicks the next GM and has sham interviews.... then Bill gets an extension .... gets his hand picked GM fired.... and now he gets to pick the next GM..... HE wasted the rookie contract of Watson and sat on cap space.... HE HAS WON ONE PLAYOFF GAME.... with the other teams pro bowl QB not playing. Un-****ing-believable!
So OBrien sucks nut for half a decade and gets an extension while Gaine gets one halfassed year and is shown the door. OK Texans.
Gaine had one majorly important job this offseason and that was use the combination of draft picks and tons of cap space to upgrade the o-line and protect our franchise qb. Instead, we sign Khalil who isn’t even healthy or good, let the Eagles jump over us in the draft and end up taking a project in round one and we don’t sign anyone else Good riddance. I just hope Butt Chin isn’t calling the shots but sounds like he may be which could be worse.
so will the Texans need to do the Rooney rule dog and pony show before hiring the guy from New England?
Only you would think of this. The Texans haven’t even gotten permission to talk to anyone from the Patriots yet.
This reeks of a scapegoat move. Texans see writing on the wall for a horrid 2019 season and are trying to do some preemptive damage control so they can place blame later. Don’t get me wrong, the Texans had a terrible draft and waste of an offseason, but what good is a new GM going to do for 2019 at this point? They should have ridden with the folks that built this coming season’s roster from the GM, head coach, and on down, and dealt with the consequences after the season. This is all a bit too cute.
You rather have an owner that’s patient for years like bob or one that cuts bait instead of wasting Watson rookie deal like he was even a casual knows that cap space like this didn’t come often and we pretty much wasted 2 yrs of it
total scapegoat mode. If only they can somehow blame this on godsey again. Maybe they can ride the gm hunt all the way in to 'we dont negotiate during the season' when they continually stonewall clowney
I would rather have an owner that isn’t fooled by a head coach that has won one playoff game and that required the pro bowl QB being injured. This is going to be the second GM the coach has hand picked in 18 months.
