Clearly if he goes to the Lakers he learned that his spectacular individual plays do not beget wins. He can light it up, but he needs to be a mega-Robin next to a Batman, as Russell was before he drove K "Can't-Take-this-S***-No-More" D out of OKC. But I don't want to dog him until he puts signature to paper.

Why Brooklyn? He's the same player as D'Lo.

    ???
Lebron brought the Cavs with no other star all the way to the Finals and has been to the Finals the most consecutive times in modern day bball. He's accomplished a lot by himself and with others.

Irving has not done anything except ride LBJ's coattails. Boston made the post season with Irving well they went to ECF last year without him he literally made the Celts worse lmao.

He did it in the eastern conference lol

When he came West he didn't even make the postseason. Need I say more?

Irving also played in the Eastern conference lol, he took an ECF team and made them first round fodder.

It's the first time Lebron didn't reach the playoffs in over a decade, everyone drops off with time so I dunno why you're acting surprised Lebron wouldn't be as good in year 16, that's more years than Jordan played in the NBA. His draft mates Chris Bosh, Wade, Melo etc are all either washed up or out of the league already that's how long he has been playing so it's a tribute to Lebron's greatness he is still a max player at his age.

Oth before Lebron Irving was routinely collecting top 3 lotto picks and/or getting injured. If you think Lebron is the most overrated player ever then clearly you are behind the curve when it comes to bball knowledge. Need I say more?

If Horford does Ainge a solid and opts out only to re-sign at a lesser per season deal, Boston would be back in the thick of things.

    1. Horford opts out of his $30 million deal next season. Re-signs for 4 years, $60 million at $15 million per
    2. Kyrie leaves Boston
    3. Boston renounces the rights to all of their free agents, including Rozier.
    4. Aron Baynes decides he can get more money on the open market and exercises his player option and becomes a free agent.

That gives Boston a total of about $80 million (including Horford's $15 million) in committed salaries going into next season with 7 players. The cap is set at $109 million next season, giving Boston about $29 million to spend on free agency. Throw a $17 million a year contract at Brogdon at midnight the day of FA opening and watch Milwaukee squirm. At best, you just signed the future PG of your franchise that complements a lot better with Tatum and Brown althewhile weakening your main conference opponent. At worst you force Milwaukee to be in cap hell when they match Brogdon and re-sign Middleton.

    Now you have:

    Horford

    Brown
    Tatum
    Brogdon

With Hayward and Smart on the bench.

You still have about $12 million in capspace. You could try and re-sign Morris to a $10 mill a year deal or go try to find someone else, like a Mirotic, Thad Young, Taj Gibson (on a 2 year deal), etc. Hell, you could attach a pick or two with Hayward, ship him to Miami for Whiteside.

    Whiteside
    Horford
    Brown
    Tatum
    Brogdon

Hoping that Whiteside will turn into Contract Year Hassan once again. But you just shed Hayward's deal completely with Whiteside becoming a free agent next summer.

Probably one of the worst hot takes I've ever seen on this site, which says a lot.

Eh, not really. Lebron isn't a great as his superfans make him out to be. The Western conference agrees

I just don't understand Kyrie's reasoning to leave Boston for the Nets. They are both young teams for which Kyrie is the best player. But Boston has the better upside. Is it just the Brooklyn market? I don't get it. Unless he really has soured on the Boston young players and Brad Stevens as coach.

It serves IT right to fall off a cliff and miss out on millions just because he wanted to maximize his earning potential while he still had a window of opportunity?? What kind of logic is this? IT gave his absolute heart and soul to that Celtics team. Based on his play, he had every right to want a big contract. It doesn't mean Boston had to agree (which they obviously didn't), but Thomas was justified in wanting it.
