Clint, Eg, 4 first round picks for AD

    or

Tatum, Smart, jaelyn Brown and a pick. I think we can all see which one is better. However EG, Clint would be solid for a guy like Beal or Butler

Paul has declined a lot. He can't get past guys like he did just over a year ago, and with a bigger workload for Paul comes more injuries. Not to mention less touches for Harden=less wins, he's the most versatile offensive player in the NBA.

This core will NEVER beat Golden State, they're going to 4-peat beating KD and the Knicks in the finals next year, Curry probably getting his 3rd MVP. Harden has his age 30, 31, 32 seasons approaching, with a decline likely in the next two years following. This is a 3, maybe 4 year window remaining with Harden.

Trading Paul and Capela to flush the cap is our only real shot at winning the West and a championship. We must turn this roster over once again around Harden while we still have a few years to spare.

you didn't read his post thoroughly

and this has been posted before: The Rockets are 18-0 this season when cp3 has double digit assists. And in the two years that hes been here that now makes it 33-1.

I'm starting to think both Chris Paul and Clint Capela are tradeable. Looking at the free agent class, there are probably 4 true players worth max money, but 7 teams with max slots available and at least 3 of those teams capable of signing 2 max players. That means at least 10 -12 guys will probably get max deals this year, possibly even more.

If you strike out on the top 4 guys, and you have enough space for a max guy what do you do? Probably gonna overpay someone.

For the Lakers, it is possible they like Chris Paul 3 yrs 120 mil. instead of:

    Demarcus Cousins - 4yr deal 144 mil
Nikola Vucevic - 4 yr deal 144 mil
Kris Middleton - 4 yr deal 144 mil
Tobias Harris - 4 yr deal 144 mil
Kristaps Prozingis - 4 yr deal 125 mil
    D'angelo Russell - 4 yr deal 125

Dude looks like an evil, greedy little goblin

Bet he fires Morey and we fall into Prokhorov Nets dysfunction making hasty moves chasing our tails for an impossible ring, wasting Harden's career and getting full blown cancer as a franchise. I hope I'm wrong.

If CP3 was still capable of running a team at a second to none level, he should have no problem dominating a 4 on 4 situation with James pulling the best defender away from the play by standing around above the key.

If we could get something like Beverly, Harrell, and Jimmy Butler for Chris Paul and Capela I think we could be a much stronger contender.

Unless Paul's skills are based on some semblance of a motion offense that the team doesn't practice and thus doesn't know how to do. Basically, the Rockets offense eliminates the one thing Paul is good at - managing an offensive system. He'd likely be really effective on a Golden State type offense, but none of his skills are useful in an iso-heavy design, and the team isn't built to do anything else.

We knew this when we got him and all the questions before Year 1 were "can they co-exist?" They proven they can because they are individually great players - they just don't complement each other or make each other better.

I agree that CP3 has declined, but his game was never predicated on athleticism. He’s an elite mid-range shooter, and one of the best facilitators of all time. Those skills are still there and will still be there as he gets older. The problem is Morey hates mid-range shots, and the Rockets insist on having Harden run the offense when he and CP3 are on the court together. By using CP3 incorrectly, it makes his decline look worse than what it truly is.

I also agree that Harden did what he had to do for the Rockets to win when the team was a walking mash unit in the middle of the season. For that, he deserves to be the back-to-back MVP. However, letting CP3 run the show at times will put less pressure on Harden, maximize the Rockets’ $40 million asset, and help the other role players better get in the flow of the game. In addition, giving both Harden and CP3 nights off for load management will help them be fresher in the playoffs.

Furthermore, why must all of James Harden’s touches come with him handling the ball the entire possession? If we are being honest, CP3 is the best creator the Rockets have, and James Harden is by far the best scorer. The Rockets should use them accordingly.

Finally, your suggestion of trading both CP3 and Capela for cap space is a pie in the sky idea. Good luck finding trades that allow the Rockets to compete this season during Harden’s prime while giving them the cap space to be major free agent players in the future.

Harden would be willing to play off the ball if chris paul was still capable of playing at an all star level. Chris Paul is no longer an all star. Why do you think harden had to average 40ppg?

Morey should call around and see if MCW is willing to come back.

I understand what you are trying to say with this stat and there probably is some truth to the sentiment, but this isn’t surprising to me.

    Dissect it a little more.

So in games where our secondary playmaker racks up assists(meaning teammates are making more shots) we win games? Doesn’t sound so surprising.
