Greeen also likes to play amazing defense, And there are plenty of ways we could use him in our offense.

Lol no they would not it’s pretty clear you are undervaluing what Draymond brings to the table.

Nope. Draymond is valuable. But Tucker is a good defender too.

We can use dray to create while harden stands at halfcourt. I hear that's a popular play

Pace rank in each of Harden’s years with Houston

    12/13 - 1st
    13/14 - 6th
    14/15 - 2nd
    15/16 - 7th
    16/17 - 3rd
    17/18 - 14th
    18/19 - 27th

What exactly about that history says to you Harden doesn’t like pace?

First of all you got those numbers from me.

Secondly I have said many times that post Klhoe, harden plays a different, slower style. The past 2 years prove that

I will never understand why they went away from offense from first half of a season of the first cp&harden one. It was so beautiful and we were demolishing everyone. with fast pace.... and then after asg they started that iso bullshit. they thought they can play warriors like that again this year without no adjustment. Well Kerr got one play under his sleeve and it was enough for genius MDA

This video is probably also why the Rockets completely cleaned house the defensive coaches

The Rockets slow pace last year is what got them to start demolishing people. Made their offense even more efficient and it's less of a toll on an older veteran team.

And Draymond is a lot better than Tucker on defense as much as I hate to say it. Like if you think its the same its not. Stop undervaluing.

Or you can realize Harden is a smart basketball player and can adapt, seriously.... And that Dantoni made those very plays Dray uses.

Post Khloe we were 3rd in pace?????? soooo...., its more like Paul came in and we came up with a plan to slow pace to limit possesions against the warriors.

This is what people don’t understand it’s not that he gave up its his body that gave up on him. Paul just can’t do the things he used to do and even in his prime he was getting torched by Steph. The mind is willing but the body says hell no.

yeah but who's driving that change ?

You really think that after he broke up with khloe he was like "man I need to sow things down."

Or do you think maybe the coach or cp3 had something to do with it

Rockets lack of defensive adjustments is what did them in. And did in Bzdelik and crew.

Yup and what is frustrating is that it is my understanding that it wasn't addressed earlier in the series either. What the Warriors did was not a surprise.

Green is a outstanding scrappy player. Does the dirty work so the soft splash bro dont have to.

Would he be a All-star on a squad by himself? No......but Curry was before Green came. Green is good, but its definitely a symbiotic relationship. Warriors definitely wouldnt be as good without him, and he wouldn't look as good without the Warriors.

    He's the ultimate roleplayer.

This speaks to the Rockets problem generally, which is doing anything outside of "their way". On offense, if forced to change it up a bit, they can't. Their role players aren't really capable of doing anything but their role, and their star players either aren't capable or don't want to actually introduce legit plays to add variability to confuse defenses.

On defense, they have switch everything (even though they run a bit of a hyrbid of it) so ingrained, that they can't even pressure to pretend/try to fight through.

I mean, it's also on CP3, cause it's just terrible on ball defense. But obviously he's not thinking about pressure to fight through and disrupt the whole thing from the get go. He's thinking I'm going to get picked, what type of switching and rotations will I need to do.

In any case, as you noted... simple play, made even simpler by the fact that they weren't even "really" picking, shouldn't have been that hard to diagnose and try a few different things (hard double, pressure up and fight through, random double, etc... they did nothing).

I actually think it was another move specifically made with the Warriors in mind.

Been listening to a few podcasts today and it’s not to say this is a new revelation because it’s been said before, but you aren’t beating that team playing their game. A few guys today claiming Toronto’s ONLY shot is to slow this thing way down.

You have to slow it down against them or they will run you off the court. Most of their losses in the playoffs have been games where teams have held them from getting well over 100 and a big part of doing that is not making the game a track meet.

Slowing it down....and getting *physical.* Have to play into them. Play with force.
