I don't think they should let him walk, either. You either sign him long term or you get some picks out of him. No way you let him walk for nothing. No teams do that with their number one overall picks, unless they're complete busts.
This is my thing... I don't care if Clowney plays here or not but if he's not we need to at least get a great player or draft picks for him. He doesn't need to be sitting idle doing nothing for us while we get less talented on D going into this upcoming season.
Idk, I really feel like clowney gives us something we won’t be able to replace right now. He’s inconsistent but still a force on defense.
While you're not wrong, I think the difference is that running backs have shorter NFL careers than most while pass rushers like Clowney are few and far between. Especially at his age.
Absolutely agreed, just don’t think sitting out a season is ever a good idea or something advised to a client. You have to account for the law of diminished returns equated with age. A year off does not equate to a year extended on your career.
Man, Rivers McCown got his own website and claims in the second or third sentence that he's writing that article tomorrow afternoon. Impressive.
At this point after not spending in the off-season, you may as well give him a front loaded contract.
