Heh. Yeah, they're not too bad tonight. A week ago, though, geez, they were so boring. Maybe someone said something.
My favorite part of that veeeeeerrrryyy extended talk about that moon shot was suggesting that it ought to count anyway, because Statcast can prove it would've been a home run. And, yeah, these guys do not study player names at all. They just called Brantley Bradley. I mean, I guess when you've spent ten minutes of game times talking about Jackie Bradley Jr. for no reason, maybe you slip.
Yuli is due for a Yuli-style hot streak. He's had a couple of mini-ones this year, but he needs to go nuts for a month.
Hinch and crew seem to be very aware of their players' health status. There was a segment with Julia before last night's game where Hinch made her fill out the lineup card. It was pretty fun to watch him grill her on that. He also talked about how he has to consider playing certain players and giving them rest and keeping everything in line with their individual training programs with the training staff. It was all very interconnected stuff. I'm sure Chirinos and Jake, who have already put in a lot of work lately, definitely pushed themselves into a rest day with last night. I wish ATTSW would actually put these clips up online. They do pretty good segments, but nobody knows about them.
I've avoided making this comparison, because it seems mean, but it's also really hard to ignore for me after seeing it so much for several years: White looks like a whale breaching the surface when he swings.
That’s great. If Peacock can get us through the 6th without any runs he will have more than done his job tonight.
