You know what really sucks ? The fact that we're starting threads over minimum salary guys ….. cause we know that's about all we can hope to sign. This offseason is gonna be a mirror image of last years - wait for that big name to opt out , sign some minimum dudes , talk about saving the MLE for the buyout market and not spend it.,
I know he deserves the MLE, but we need it for younger players. I seriously doubt if he will come to Houston for the vet min.
It’s an interesting comparison... https://www.basketball-reference.co...yan+Anderson&player_id2=anderry01&idx=players I would be happy to have either or both on veteran minimums. Tucker, Dudley, Anderson at the 4 slot is a decent rotation and saves resources to tie up a starting caliber 3.
Would definitely be cool with Dudley for the minimum, no interest at the MLE. @Mathloom we will not have the room exception as we will have no cap room. I'm also fine with Carrol at the minimum or for a sliver of the MLE if we are dividing it up.
Harden isn’t going to want to play with someone who is openly campaigning for giannis to win the mvp.
i'm not even sure they'd let him into the locker room. He's made a lot of enemies bashing players publicly ...and he's not good enough to get a pass. I say this as a BC alum who has watched his career and off-the-court comments since college. I am still amazed he carved out a very long and productive NBA career. It wasn't natural talent. He's an incredibly hard worker ...and prolific sh#t talker. High BBall IQ. I can see a future in coaching, but no future in a rockets 2019 rotation.
No. We can use the tax payer MLE and nothing else without a hard cap. If we can maneuver to be under the hard cap we can use the FULL MLE and the BAE. However, it seems impossible to do that, We'll have to see. Room exception is only available to teams with cap room. Assuming we are a tax team that doesn't want a hard cap we can use the Tax payer MLE and minimums.
Do you think we can send a retiring Nene and a 2nd rounder to a rebuilding team with cap space? We sent out a lot of 2nd rounders, don't know if we are still allowed to do it.
I'm sure we could salary dump Nene if we needed to. I think priority one is trying to make a move for a key player and using Nene as salary filler.
CF only loves this guy because he speaks so fondly of the GM/team, not because he's any good or can help the team. Maybe 5-7 years ago.
