Haha but seriously, if Bran knew he was going to be king AND that Dany was going to torch all of King's Landing and people in it, should he have said something to avoid the ****ing genocide?
It's super inconsistent whether Bran can see the future. There's no reason he should be able to as his power is supposed to be tied to the weirdwood trees that can show him the events that have happened. The show expanded that power greatly by making it that he can see any past regardless of the presence of the trees. It's been suggested he can see the future, but if that's true a lot of what he's done doesn't make sense.
No, he's definitely supposed to be able to see anything that has ever happened (show). He told us that. He's the world's "memory."
Plenty of characters. Greyworm was lame as hell though and since he lived I thought at least I could see some depth for the guy. He was instead a plot device instead of a character. But I won't condemn the finale as a whole.
And have those 2 dumbasses screw it up a second time? No thanks. No, let Martin publish whatever he can manage to publish. Let this one fade into memory. And then make a new series without the baggage of this one, and knowing how you'll end it before you even begin. Btw, it occurs to me that leaks sank this ship. Well, not the leaks, but the fear of leaks. The story is the 2 dumbasses took over most of the writing because they wanted to play it close to the vest and not let the ending get spoilt by leaks. And since they can't write, they ruined the show. It'd have been better if they had good writing and leaks than bad writing and no leaks, in retrospect. But, it is a symptom of the times that they worry about this stuff. It's become pretty common for anticipated movies to leak. Hateful Eight was rewritten because of a leak. GOT was ruined in order to save it from a leak. It's a problem.
So I decided to go ahead and continue my rewatch of the series. I was going to stop after the way it ended, but I need more GoT in my life. I finished watching season 1 and man it took me back to how amazed i was by this show. Just amazing stuff early on. It's a shame it went so far downhill near the end. Judging by how this show progressed, you just might be right.
I did the same and was amazed as well. It's like watching someone you see every day get slowly fatter. It's not as noticeable to you, but if someone hasn't seen him in years it's quite the difference.
