Crazy...it wasn’t all that long ago when winning 60 games was a challenge. Now they’re virtual locks to win the division in the middle of May. Edit: The sports book I occasionally use has the Astros at +450 to win the WS. Insanely low value there.
The Astros already have an 8 game lead in the division and they're up 9 in the loss column. This is looking like 2017 all over again.
I think 538 forgot to carry the one somewhere when calculating our division odds. My crystal ball says 100. I seriously can’t imagine a scenario short of team bus crashing where this team doesn’t win that division.
Yeah, I was in Vegas this week and couldn’t get better than 4-1 on the Stros. But it doesn’t matter. I’ll be happy to take the Bellagio’s money in October/November.
42 of their next 62 games are against teams under .500. That basically takes them into the end of July... I hope the Twins start to cool off at some point.
Ideally Tampa wins the East, CLE and MIN both make the playoffs, and only one of BOS/NYY does. And that team loses the WC to CLE/MIN.
I know I've joked about Red Sox and/or Yankees missing playoffs, but I'm not sure I see a Rays that can win that division this year any more ideal than the Sox or Yankees.
Their fans are nice people, actually live there (most of them), and aren't bandwagoners. Plus, how can we hate a team that has CFM on it?
Not hating. Just saying if the Rays win the AL East, they will likely be a tougher opponent than the Yankees and Red Sox.
Just watched on back-to-back-to-back pitches, Ohtani get nailed on his right knuckles on a swing (strike 3 btw), 2 pitches later Andrelton Simmons hits a chopper to 1B and as the flip goes to the P at the bag Simmons tears up his ankle as he runs through 1B. Ohtani looked ok, Simmons did not at all.
