You didn't get the memo that she'd eventually become a mad queen? the show was consistent in the character build-up that she's not fit to rule. The She was just politically correct at times but she's got the tendencies to go nuke mad.
That Golden Corps General was smug as hell and he completely lost his groove and his (army). Just cost Drogon couple of blows.
I guess a dragon can regenerate their fire fuel indefinitely? That's a little weird, but I know, why am I thinking about any of it at this point. I didn't love Cleganebowl directed by Michael Bay with a crumbling castle and all that rot. Good lord but the Hound deserved better. And why oh why would any film-maker want to imitate this is their own work? Sorry, end of b****ing from me at least. The writers had an impossible, impossible job, and at least it's still fairly entertaining... kind of... if you like seeing thousands of innocent people burned to death... wait, wut?
Yea all because Jon didn't give her dick. He could have saved the city but no, busting a nut in his aunt was too displeasing.
These last two episodes are completely incoherent. In one episode, we see that Dany's dragons are vulnerable and Cersei has a real fighting chance. Then in the next episode, her lone dragon literally single-handedly wipes out Cersei's forces. Why does Dany even need an army then? She and Drogon seemingly can defeat whole fleets and armies by themselves.
Yup. Today the scorpions have heat seeking missiles! Today Drogon has supersonic speed! Today Bran can travel back in time! Today Bran can just fly around with ravens! Today Arya can sneak up on the Night King! Today half the Dothraki will miraculously come back somehow! Today the Golden Company is the most badass mercenary group in Westeros! What's the most hilarious part about this whole debacle is that it didn't even NEED to end this way nor make such little sense. It could've just been fleshed out appropriately and the exact events unfolding would've mostly been fine. Nah they were too worried making sure Ed Sheeran and Aaron Rodgers were making cameos.
drogon eventually keels over and dies from the poisoned bodies of the children who were feeding themselves to him under varys's instructions. tyrion seizes the opportunity to kill dany but first stabs and kills jon before getting to her. arya jumps out of nowhere to shank and kill tyrion but only after dany's been disposed of. it's not hamlet, this leaves gendry as the legit heir to the iron throne now he's not a b*stard. arya becomes his queen and they live happily ever after. the end.
Gendry is no longer a b*stard, because Danny made him a noble ya? So something happens to Jon...maybe Danny offs him. Arya off's Danny. And then Gendry and Arya are on the iron throne.
There is so much that went into Daeny choosing violence in that moment that the show just did a poor job of setting up. It begins with the story of Kings landing itself. Daenys family built Kings Landing from the ground up and Tywin, cersais father, walked into the city acting as allies and took the city from Daenys family. They raped and pilledged the innocent, the murdered Daenys father and her entire family and even tried to murder her. Yet the show hardly reminds you of any of this in the final season. Then you have to think about her trust issues that she justifiably has. She trusted her brother and he betrayed her, she trusted Jorah and he betrayed her, she trusted the people of Meereen and they betrayed her, she trusted Cersai and she betrayed her, she trusted Jaime and he betrayed her, she trusted Tyrion and he betrayed her, she trusted Varys and he betrayed her and then the one person she put everything on hold for and gave up so much for Jon Snow even betrays her by not trusting her judgement and not only that but he also cannot love her anymore. Many of the characters pushed Daeny to this by simply thinking they had it all figured out and always trying to be two steps ahead instead of really trusting Daeny was who she was for the first 7 seasons. I really don't think Daeny intended to choose violence until Rhaegal died, Massandae was executed and Jon refuses her love. All three of those things pushed her to this point yet everyone had already written her off before that and started scheming and plotting behind her back. So when i look at her choosing to destroy the city and everyone inside i think she is probably tired of trusting that people will live up to their word... Perhaps she thinks if she relents they will find a moment of weakness in her and betray her once more. She's given up everything to come back to her home and she feels that showing mercy is the only way she can lose at this point. Also i think you have to think about who was delivering the message of the bells the whole episode, Tyrion, whos to say Daeny doesnt think he was trying to work with his sister and brother to betray Daeny once again. She knew Jaime had been captured trying to go back to Cersai and i even believe her telling Tyrion was a test to see if he would betray her by setting Jaime free which of course he did and then even tried to get him to save Cersai, the one person Daeny has the most beef with in the world. But whatever you believe its obvious the show did a horrible job telling the full story of why Daeny ultimately chose violence over peace. They just didnt give this last season enough time, it should have been 10 episodes at least.
The Golden Company was an extremely useful plot point, but like many other things it was wasted on the show. Her choosing to hold off on attacking a largely defenseless KL and heading north to help Jon fight the NK instead allowed Cersei to buy their services and create a decent defense..at least on paper. If done better it would have added to the reasons why Dany is mad at everybody, Replace Super Euron's show exploits with an extremely competent military force doing the deeds. Jon and Tyrion cost her a lot by holding off on lighting up KL right from the start. But the way it was done, they served no purpose whatsoever.
As someone pointed out - Why go north at all? Judging by this episodes - Dany could have Took Kings Landing by herself 2 yrs ago She had 3 Dragons. Kings Landing had no Scorpians. She could have burned the whole thing and still had the evidently infinite amount of Unsullied and Dothraki to clean up Rocket River
