Faried and Shumpert were terrible and fell out of the rotation.

Someone earlier was saying dantoni has failed by not playing Nene enough.

Not sure about the timeouts, I would have to go back and look at those but usually rockets maximize 2 for 1s and things like that

Lmao. Shaka Smart can't even coach the talent at UT.

    What a joke

Regarding MDA being on the hot seat, remember that he wasn't Maori's choice for coach, and he definitely wasn't Tilman's.

That said, here are two pertinent quotes from March 13, less than two months ago:

Tilman: “Mike is going to be here as long as we can keep him here. I don’t think you’re going to find a better coach. I don’t think you’re going to find a coach the players enjoy playing for more than Mike.”

Murrhey: "He’s such a critical factor. Speaking for myself only, I would love for him to be here for as long as he wants to be here.".

Then again, Morley is the one who's on record as saying that analytics show that a good coach isn't that big a needle-mover.

That's great lol. Ask UT fans and boosters what they think about him. If he didn't have that ridiculous contract he would have been fired.

Maybe they should hire OJ Mayo

As a houstonian and Texan, glad with job of Shaka smart at ut.

Roach can make a NBA roster right now and be a rotation player.

    Fabres got better under smart.

Ut basketball is better than Aggie basketball as of right now.

It took some skill for ut to win n.i.t. mang. C'mon now.

Not saying Morey is necessarily right, but when i think about McHale making the conference finals and Kerr winning multiple rings eh...also think about Pop, amazing coach with three all oh famers, looking ok but definitely not amazing with two regular all stars like Derozan and Aldridge.

In the end i think coaching matters (just look at Bud), but having a great team is much more important.

I certainly respect cyberx and the information he gives us here, but I’m not sure it’s the best time to hear this. I don’t doubt that it’s obvious to MDA that the result of this series will possibly have an impact on his future here. However, I hope he isn’t getting the same story cyberx has given us from someone else. He doesn’t need the distraction, in my opinion. The pressure on him clearly is tremendous, regardless of what the owner and Morey might be thinking.

    You are? He's been awful.

Wasted a ton of talent. He's a horrible coach for a school like UT.

I don't think winning the NIT had anything to do with his coaching. All it showed me is how badly he squandered the season. UT should have been in the tourney.

Regardless, he will never be an NBA head coach. He won't even be at UT.

Sampson is a far superior coach

MDA is in the hotseat because he can't beat the most stacked team in NBA history? Yikes.

Although in fairness if Harden didn't put up the historical season he did we might not even be in the playoffs... I'm torn and I think the Rockets should be cautious about this. Would be a very high risk move to pray that the next guy that comes in can do more with less; we're gonna lose a lot of guys this off season and the older guys will regress.

I agree with your concerns. But give me Giannis and Lopez forced to guard the corners and leave the basket open at a total cost of roughly $13m for us, I take it any day.

MDA on the hot seat? So yer saying that the powers that be would not consider this "a season to cherish - even without a championship"?

Rox already had the best offense in the L (top 3 in offense metrics), not struggling to score is par for the course for them. KD is a decent defender if he is out Rox should have shot them out of the game.

    Ut holding their own.

Texas tech almost won it all for a clean big 12 sweep of both major tournaments

A&m had a lottery pick leave early for celtics last year.

A&m had two other players leave last year playing in NBA g league (Davis & Hogg).

So big 12 is definitely stacked. Just last year a&m was in sweet 16.
